New C5 S6 Avant Member

Hello Guys!!!

Just welcomed to your community by v8a6 (I’m also a member on AZ)! Been poking around and have found some great stuff! I just purchased a 2003 S6 Avant with 112k on the odometer about 6 months ago. It had some suspension damage so I just went ahead and got the front control arm kit and KW coilovers. I am getting the itch to start modifying, trying to get some power out of this thing!

Have a few questions for the community (v8a6 has already given some great advice):

I am looking at putting a 6 speed in here, JHM Tune and a nitrous set up from JHM, where can I source these parts? Also exhaust options… What is available out there? I understand that some guys here also build headers. To be honest guys I want to get about 400-450 hp out of this V8 before having to do any forced induction work.

I am also looking at a E55 AMG as well if I can’t get decent PWR out of the S6. (Flame suit on) ;D
Thanks for all your guys help!

Pasha

Pics of the S6, nice and cleaned up.

I think I’m going to get a cupra lip for the front.

Welcome to AudiRevolution !!!

Beautiful S6!

I think with the right parts, JHM tune, and the headers like the ones on Beemercer’s car (not the crap Chinese ones that lose power), you will be very close to 400hp NA. Torque will be even stronger.

I only had Miltech catless downpipes (not proper tuned long tube headers) and I was at about 350-360 chp and 380 ctq, on my first run. In almost all cases, youll get stronger pulls on each run, up to a point. But due to a bad tire, I only had the one.

v8a6: That’s an A6 you had though right?

Gosh I wish you guys where in the state. Preferably in Charlotte.

Great car and super great plans for the car. The 4.2 is a great car with great potential. When you look at the cheap mods that are out there. They are cheap for a reason. You should see really great success if you stick with Jhm. Keep us posted and if you have any questions let us know. This is a more technical site with lots of know how

It was an A6 body, but the intake, and complete heads (including cams) were from an S8. The heads were also ported, though I am not sure if that actually accounted for much gain on its own.

These were the mods

H&R coilovers
H&R rear sway bar
RS6 side skirts and rear spoiler
Euro-spec Recaro seats
6-speed manual conversion
Southbend stage 1 clutch (GONE)
19" OEM RS4 wheels - Winter setup
Miltek 2.5 downpipes with Magnaflow high-flow cats
Magnaflow 2.5 catback exhaust with custom quad oval tips
OEM All-Weather mats
RS6 upper grill
LED tail lights
S8 Intake manifold
Gruvenparts billet variable intake rods
S8 complete heads with port and polish by Gord Bush Performance
20" wheel summer setup
JHM shift knob
JHM lightweight crank pulley
JHM short shifter
034 Motor mounts
aluminum coolant pipe
JHM tune
Clutchmasters FX400 6-puck clutch
Fidanza lightweight flywheel
Innovate LM2 wideband O2 sensor

Also where in the world do you guys get your hands on a set of RS6 skirts? I have looked and cant find anything for a decent price…

It depends what you consider a decent price.

$600-800 USD is the going price for a used set. Then you need the flat door blades that are a few hundred extra.

You can keep hitting ebay.co.uk or ebay.de until you find a seller that that will ship. Or, keep an eye out for a US set. But, they sell in the blink of an eye. So, have your money ready and dont bother negotiating on the price if they are $800 or less.

Beautiful S6

Thank you
