New car ordered

So i found myself in the Audi dealership today. I just went in to order a new set of floor mats for the s6 and ended up putting a deposit down on this:

Then i got woken up by some hot sales girl, telling me to stop drooling on the black nappa leather seats

Alas, It was only a dream. :slight_smile:

First time seeing one up close, i asked for a test drive and they said sure, once i leave a 20k deposit on my credit card! I’ll keep playing the lottery for now

At least i got to order some new floor mats ;D

I like the new style headlights, but I just don’t like what Audi have done to the front grills now.
The extra angles at the top make me feel its lost something, of course I could put that to one side to drive this… :slight_smile:

Good tip about the deposit - if anyone comes round to buy my S6, I’ll make them put 2k down first before they take a spin ;D

Its 1k just to sit in one of our cars if someone wants to buy them LOL.

Thats crazy about the deposit but I guess that kinda makes sense. Crazy still. I agree tho on the new cars The styling is starting to get too soft.

I think he was only joking about the 20k but definitely no chance of getting a test drive without some kind of security for them.

Since i was in the dealership i started looking t new cars and unfortunately i think ill be moving on from the s6 soon

I went to test drive a few 3.0 TDI a7’s this week and i think I’m gonna trade up to a newer car.

Its on another level to my s6, a lot more usable power range, comfort, tech features and looks. ticks nearly all the boxes for me currently and with a re-tune will be an even quicker car.

But… but… but… 300hp V6!

And a 2017 A7 is the same MSRP as the 2017 S6. If it were me I’d do the C7 S6 if you’re looking to upgrade your C6, but to each his own :slight_smile:

In the US that’s true. I’m not buying new and 2012 s6 is another 20k on top of this a7. Couple of years and I’ll be back in a s6/s7 tfsi :slight_smile:

Saving for mortgage means I had to compromise somewhere with spec! TDI is more economical for me currently and would easily give the s6 v10 a run for the money.

I always forget you’re in Ireland - yes, fuel costs can definitely add up over there! We’re still around $2.50/gallon here, which means I can fill my tank for about $50. If I had a car that had 2x better gas mileage, I’d only be saving like $25 a week, so not worth it.

Funny side note, I saw a mustang GT on the highway today that had custom vanity plates that said “MPG HA”, I had to give him the thumbs up when I passed him, too funny. I almost got similar plates on my car, I wanted something like “YUM GAS” ;D

Nice plates!

For me to fill a tank it it’s equivalent to about $110! And with the mpg of the v10. It can be an expensive daily driver!

The A7 is growing on me. I do think if you got your S6 JHM tuned you might have been convinced to keep the car longer. Getting a few of the new available mods I think really transform the car and make the car what most of us wanted the car to be from the factory.

sad to see you go but please keep with us and show of the new car

Yes I’m sure the full host of jhm mods unleash the v10 to its potential but I just on the wrong side of the pond for it all to be cost effective. it’s a diesel man’s world over here .

I have the spacers now to sell since I never fitted them. And a load of other maintenance parts! I’ll keep my progress in the a7 section updated.
