Another ‘custom dyno proven’ tuner popped up for the S5/RS4. Bren Tuning.

Claiming 20 whp/20 wtq for the S5 4.2 FSI and 26 whp/27 wtq for the RS4 4.2 FSI

Very interesting…and ‘proven’! (but only on the dyno as ‘these cars weren’t made for the dragstrip’)

Hope they step up and show us something.

Jabroni (badblueRS4) bought the tune recently so hopefully he takes his car to the strip and runs something decent soon. I’m not holding my breath, but it would be nice to see a new tuner who suddenly knows how to produce power on the 4.2 pop up.

From the looks of it they are a Subaru tuner…and they live their life one dyno sheet at a time. I could find absolutely zero races, quarter mile vids…nothing on youtube with bren tuning other than dyno pulls in their shop on their dyno.

How they are tuning 4.2 Audis suddenly…that’s going to be interesting. We know what the results were like when traditionlly-turbo-tuner Audi focused companies tried to tune the 4.2 cars…

If you look at their promotional video on their webpage there is not one clip of a car moving. All dyno photos and cars on the dyno. I think I know where this story is going…

Are they tuning any other audis? I.e. Forced induced from factory? If not, I find it odd that they would pick such a difficult platform to tune as their initial venture into audi.

doesn’t look like it, but ‘custom dyno tuners’ seem to often tune all kinds of cars…and they always seem to do really well.

I guess if you write your own report card, you’ll always do well.

Before i went with the JHM tune i reached out to Bren since he was pretty local and he claimed he could do a custom road map and dyno tune… Overall pretty knowledgeable, few of my buddys are familiar with his scooby tunes…

In the end the reviews from the JHM tune sold me, especially when it came down to launch control and he didn’t mention anything about it

Saki, remember the shop guy who installed my DP’s? Not sure if you had arrived yet or not when he started bragging about tunes and that he had “all current tunes” out available to him and that he could “hook” us up for cheap LOL

So he uses kaizens dyno, and I bet kaizen sends him customers, customer leaves with good dyno numbers they feel happy, feel like it was a worthy investment, more likely to do other work and redyno, ensuring the dyno keeps running.

Sounds like they’re in with all the local dyno’s that frequently get Audi’s. The guys at ESP tried to sell me on getting an in-house Bren tune when I went to dyno there. I asked a couple of questions just because I was intrigued and then politely declined.

Bren tuning does not make ANY tunes. They are not a tuner. They are only a dealer. OE Tuning is the tuner and they are based in California. Saki likes to hear part of a story and run and “gossip” on forums. Reminds me of girls in Higschool. SMH…It never ends…

you’re ridiculous. How is this gossip? Your best buddy (daytonaRS4) said you were Bren tuned, and making more power than his EPL tuned car. I don’t see how you can turn that into some conspiracy by me? So I mistakenly trusted the info your best forum friend posted about your tune and your car…man what a girl I am.

p.s. OE tuning looks like real ‘Audi Experts’…I am particularly interested in the S4 4.2 FSI V8 tune they offer. FAIL!

The problem is you go and gossip and spread confusion calling a dealer a “Subaru” tuner and all this “chatting” when you don’t even have any facts straight! You’re an idiot. We were discussing the tune as a new option for the RS4. If someone comes to your house to fix your television, and his van says ‘toilet repair’ are you going to ignore that fact, or are you going to just hope he knows how to fix toilets AND televisions with equal skill? To that end, should we trust that a Subaru tuner with zero Audi experience is adequately skilled to tune Audis? We’d probably like to discuss that and maybe see some proof first. That’s why it was mentioned. Local guys here on AR, who knew the tuner, offered some insight to their business focus. Turns out they’re just a dealer. Great. So who is OE tuning? That’s what we’ll discuss next…but not with any help from you.

You have their tune but rather than say ‘hey guys, my friend daytonaRS4 was mistaken…I’m OE tuned, not BREN tuned, and here’s what I’ve learned about the tune and the company and my impressions so far’. No…you instead try to invent drama that isn’t even there.

Thru this situation, you learned what a dealer is. Clearly you had no idea and I had to explain what a dealer is to you on AudiWorld. I’m glad you understand now. Not once have you cleared up or taken fault in any of your “propaganda” campaign about Bren Tuning. FWIW OE tuning does great n/a tunes for mercedes. They don’t have much detail about their audi tunes though so I would assume it’s nothing special.

And for the record, when I was offered a tune for my car by Bren, it was not stipulated that I would get a 3rd party tune that they resold as a dealer. It was offered as a custom tune that could be done right on the dyno. Their website also seems to indicate that they custom tune cars, but what do I know…
