New England Dragway meet - 10/23

Saw this over on AZ, spreading the word. Looks like we’ve got 8 confirmed so far including myself with a good mix of Audis. A couple B7/8 S4’s, an S6, an S7. It’s a Friday street night which is usually pretty busy but you still can get plenty of runs in. Should be a good time. Let me know if you’re interested.

the good thing is with it being so late in the season, the guys with RWD cars get discouraged by the cold temps, so it won’t be like a Friday in July.

Good luck out there. Read the tips thread first as a reminder of a few things.

Good luck man, you really need to get into the 12s!

Thanks guys. My car is running really well at 108k miles so I’m hoping to get some good passes in. Anyone know if any of the 12 second cars had over 100k? I think that’d be a pretty cool accomplishment.

the JHM car definitely did (they went 12.70 as their best on headers, and a few other 12.9 runs when they just had downpipes)
cabracco85 I’m not sure
justincredible I’m not sure
my car had about 55,000 miles
euroswagr was probably similar to mine

When was the last time a B67 went 12.xx all motor? Might have been euroswagr?

I wanted to get on that list this fall now that I have headers, but the clutch is killing me and I don’t see me getting a new one right away since the 1R works as long as I don’t launch it and most of my funds/focus have steered towards my baby coming next spring.

Looks like on Friday night temps will be dropping into the upper 30’s and DA will be around -1600!! At those temps do you think I’d be better off running my softer winter tires?

could be. My traction was for shit last weekend on my PSS. 1.96-2.10 60’ times. Apparently they were some crazy sideways little burnouts coming off the line. Wish I had video.

I run Enkei PF01’s with Conti ExtremeContact DW’s and have never had great luck with them at the strip. They’re nice and light at 41.2 lbs a corner but I think a 1.93 was my best 60’ in 30+ passes. In 6 runs with my winter set up my worst 60’ was a 1.87 and best was a 1.79

Should’ve gone with the winter wheel/tire set up…

I struggled with the launch in my previous 4 runs before that happened. First two runs I used launch assist and had terrible wheel hop. Next two runs tried launching without it at around 3200, spun a little, bogged and then went. Last run when I broke I tried launching at about 3400. A split second of wheel hop then snap. Luckily it appears to just be the left front CV axel and I found one for $117 with a warranty. I haven’t got the tow bill yet but I’m sure the 300 mile tow will not be cheap. Oh well.

Bummer. Hope it works out.

Any times to post?

Nothing worth putting on the list. Even with awesome DA my traps were down slightly so something might be going on with the car. Or with 109k miles she might just be getting a little tired.

Got the car back up and running last week and the cheapo axle seems to be holding up fine. Did a couple launches and nothing broke, yet.
