 Was thinking about doing the airboxes as well next time they’re out

How did you use the tape and sheet differently?

Curious to see how well it adheres over time.

I did the same thing to mine on the S4. To be fair if your driving 80+ MHP for any prolonged time your intake should be cool as your pulling in a ton of air at that speed and the air scrubbing alone will cool down the intake. So there is little that the reflective tape would be doing there over the advantage of air scrubbing. Also the air passing under the intake with the bigger gap from the intake spacers will help scrub surface temps as well.

The intake spacers and reflection tape do or block two different kinds of heat transfer so you wouldn’t see a bigger difference over the spacers IMHO as the spacers are a thermal barrier blocker from the dominate heat source and the heat dissipation from the heads into the intake it stops the direct heat transfer. As that is the major source of heat obviously the intake spacers stop that transfer ability.

The thermal reflective tape helps prevent radiant heat absorption. With the added air gap of the intake spacers some of this is lessoned due to the air enlarged air gab between the block and the intake. However in low speed and low air conditions where radiant heat would increase the thermal tape really fills in the gaps there and really helps compliment the spacers and give an over all heat blocking package.

Great job it looks fantastic.

New intake and spacers have arrived home - in away in Aussie at the moment but am home on Monday. I’ll get some photos of the IM and insides as soon as I can and get them up. Can’t wait for full power again!!

Intake arrived at home - part number is still the M variant. Build date is 11jul17 - by the looks it’s brand new. . . See when I get home.

…wish i would’ve found a warranty out of the box… here we are thousands of dollars later lol

awesome, thanks for the link!

Got a new intake from JHM today. Build date is September 29, 2017. The part number is 07L.133.185.M. Is this the newest revision that everyone has been talking about? The laps are blue like the ones from the July build intake that was posted.

I posted a pic of the label further up the thread…

So what’s the final word on the Oct17 intakes with the unchanged part number? Does anyone think that these will be more reliable than the past ones?

A new IM plus tune is the last thing I gotta do, but I’ve been holding out for good news or an mod/upgraded version from JHM.

The story as I understood was that there is another revision. I believe it was made eairly last year and the intake manufacture was testing these changes. Remember only time you need to change the part number is when an engeenering change has been made. A material change or possible manufactureing adjustment wont have to require a part number change.

I think at this point. The latest versions of the intakes have show to hold up well. Making sure to keep them well maintained is obviously good practice.

I think you add a new intake and the JHM tune you will be a happy camper.
