new member 2010 S6

UPDATE:
so I got my car back finally. They did a manual de-carb (used solvents and manual cleaning though not walnut shell blasting) and it was totally covered under my CPO. I got to drive a new S4 loaner (see previous post) and that was fun for a day then it got boring.
First day I got my S6 back it smelled like gas, took it back and sure enough there was a fuel line leaking somewhere so I had to drop it off again. This time I got a new A6 which has terrible seats compared to my S6. Fast car too but oh how I get bored with V6’s. Anyway got my car back yesterday and noticed a few worrisome things:

When I was driving home and put the car under full load, it felt a little weak and jumpy and the CEL flashed a few times then went away. It did this again once more. So I stopped pushing it. The CEL did not stay on but I assume there were some mis-fires. Today on the way to work I went wide open throttle many more times. No CEL but at high RPM’s there was a jumpy feel and I could see the RPM needle shuddering. It also felt weak. But no CEL at all which i found odd. I don’t have a VAG-COM so I can’t interrogate but I assume with no CEL there would be no code thrown am I right? Any ideas? Everyday driving feels fine.

As they should have. When I was replacing my injectors and IM, I had them carbon clean. While the warranty didn’t cover the clean since they were already I. There I was only chafed 1.5 hours of shop time, and you could have eaten on it after the manual clean :slight_smile:

Funny about the gas leak, same happened to me as they didn’t fully tighten the injector and associated line…somewhat common cause the techs are use to doing as many Injector installs on the s6. Enjoy her!

What you described below sounds like when I had bad gas. There could also be some small exhaust leaks somewhere or the injectors aren’t spraying correctly? I’d bring it back in snd see if you can get that code checked…

Did you figure out those misfires? I just had a manual cleaning done (a fuel injector clogged, so I had them do the cleaning as preventative maintenance). 5k sounds insane… My 1 injector replaced and manual cleaning costed me a total of about $1600. I guess if they wanted to replace all injectors, so be it, but I don’t see why.

Oddly, as I opened my car up, my EPM light came on and I smelt a lot of gas. ended up bringing it back, same story. Some gas line needed to be tightened. Coincidence? I dunno but I’d be interested in hearing anyting more you might have found out.

2 months and no S6 pics? boooooo!

Got a full manual carbon clean under CPO, then CEL came back on. It’s been back in the shop for the last week. They replaced one injector and it seems fine now. I pick it up tomorrow!

Oh and a final update.

Carbon clean and 1 injector replaced and my car is back to running normally.

Sounds a little louder, more growly. Not any faster that I can see. Had to replace the front brakes too, that cost a pretty penny.

it seems like if you dont get a carbon clean soon enough that the carbon somehow damages the injectors. Dose anyone know what injectors these are and if they are cross compatiable with another car. or are these specific to just the V10

also forgot to mention. Your car looks great.

Not specific, offhand not sure but I think it’s the same as a few VAG engines. They wholesale for about $100 U.S.

They use the same injector as the 3.2L FSI V6 motor.
