Hi guys, my name is Jae and I just joined this site to get more info about my car which is 2007 Misano Red RS4.
It seems like the crowd here is more mature and the contents are more technical and to the point.
I posted the same question on Audizine so I’m just copying and pasting it.
my car has about 45k miles and just noticed that the front pads are pretty worn out. I think the rotors are fine as I didn’t feel any grooves on them. Just the usual lip on the outside.
I’m planning to change both the front and rear pads at once even though the rear pads look ok (I assume it’s better to replace all rather than fronts alone? or does it not matter).
I live in NJ where it rains quite a bit in the summer and this is my daily driver. I don’t track the car so I don’t need anything hard core.
I’m looking for something that will perform better than OEM in dry/wet and long lasting if possible with lower dust.
What are OEM brake pads made of? I read that if replacing with different material brake pads the rotors have to be cleaned prior to putting new pads on or something? correct me if wrong.
Lastly, would you guys recommend stainless steel brake lines and brake fluid flush at this point? If so, which product/fluid do you guys recommend.
Thanks!
