Picked it up last night. Liking it more than I’d expected. The tune provides notable / tangible mid-range punch where it flattened off before. This is gonna be a hoot fersure. Biggest gripe is the door panel top edge, or lack thereof - sucks to have arm roll off the sill when trying to rest it up there - some mfg’s just muff that aspect up… all my other Audi’s nailed it, this one swing and a miss unfortunately. Lame.

Now… GODDAMN tho does this thing frickin toss off HEAT (as I’d read, but holyfarq)! Intake mani scalding to the touch… after an hour sitting in 45* garage!!! Crykie. Will be doing the phenolic fersure… at some point lol.

Had gearhead neighborz over to check it out over bierz… they left late, I sat in passenger seat and started it to goof around in there a bit… fell asleep fer 2hrs (whoops - never underestimate how much I rule). My garage was 743981 friggin degrees when I awoke! Holycrap! I spun it around in the bay (door open for a few min’s)… and the garage was still scalding hot this morning. That’s NEVER happened with any of my other heaps in there, ever. INSANITY.

My jalopies tend to see a lot of idle time (awaiting monsters to get out of activities, etc.)… think I’ll be muuuuuch more diligent with this one and pick my idle battles. That is an absurd amount of heat!

My friends and I were semi-joking last night about hood scoops. Be cool if could find a way to graft them on unnoticably heh heh. I’d imagine they’d be quite effective! Geesh…

You see why so many guys love the JHM spacers. They do a lot ontop of keeping the heat in check. If you idle the car alot they will be a big help.

Another way to get some of the heat out of the engine bay is to pull the weather strip from the front and the back of the engine bay. It is something lots of us do and I have never seen any water snow or anything from the outside get into the engine bay. There are also some spots in the core support that you can trim out but that might be a bit too extreem. It all depends on your outlook

It sounds just a tick more notable, but the flow / throttle response is immensely improved… huge bang/buck, thanks so much for that timely insight.

Small internet. I went to S-Fest last year (or maybe it was the year before, not sure) and actually bought both my '06 A4 and '08 Q7 from Coventry Motorcar.

Side note, I had an '03 SL55 that I ended up selling before the ABC issues reared their head. I was out of warranty and it would not have been pretty.

Whereabouts are you in CT? I live in Griswold.

Awesome. Did you remove rear resonators? Should be decently louder at full clip and more rumbley under throttle. Interested to hear clips. Glad it didn’t get too much louder with 3"

your a car guy lol. The one video of the S8 Ive heard in person its probably quieter then your car with the back half off. When you put the camera mic right above the tail pipes it can really pick up the tone but it isnt great for getting an over all idea on the sound of the car vs what a fly by would be.

I think its great that the v10 is starting to get in the hands of real car guys. Us 4.2 S4 guys have been trying to help tell the V10 guys that the formula for the V10 is going to be the same thing it was for the V8 5.2 and 4.2 are very close from everything intake down to oil pan.

There is a big gain from a proper exhaust system even a res back system is going to help that monster 5.2 breath.

vtgt - yes, removed 2nd pair 'o resonators

but yes, when rev’ing it up you can hear it more and it seems a shade more growl-y under load which is just what I wanted

incredible - Heh, yeah I did say that, and got what I aimed for. Tho I know what you mean by the mic placement. What I achieved with this accomplishes the power gain and just about exact sound increase I hoped for… some more sound but not too much. Again, I am keenly against having everyone know everything I am ahem “doing” all the time (which… I… allllllllwaaaaaays “am” heh heh).

I just had my bud rip it up / down the road for me… could use a (red headed) c-hair more volume, but the note is exotic and massively mechanical. Awesome.

aluthman - heh, jahmon… small world! on //SFest and CMC. Too funny. What’d you bring there that year? I came late the last 2yrs in my 930, you’d have heard me fersure as that runs 18" straightpipe dump off the turbo :slight_smile:

So, yeah - I had 2 friends I know “drive” their cars tell me they get 17mpg ave (no tune) and 19mpg (tune) driving them like they stole them. Ummmmm errrrrrrrr uhhhhhh… no. JeezusHc… my first tank? 174mi, 18gal… 9.1mpg. Fakkmeinthegoatass. Yikes. Sure, I drive like an uberdouche… but… NINE? Fme. LOL / d’oh.

I had my A4 there. I was parked next to the sweet B5 RS4 replica. There was someone at CMC with a C6 S6 when I was there buying my Q7. Was that you by chance? It would have been early to mid January this year.

9 mpg is actually pretty impressive. I’ve never had anything that could accomplish that lol.

That RS4 rep is fookin bonkers, my buddy Nick’s… he showed this year in his company’s (Kaizen) 1300hp Skyline… redonkular.

Can anyone point me in the direction of the DOT plate delete grille strip thingamajiggy? Looks nasty as is, will be ridding that and the amber front corner indicators and clear side marker lenses, STAT :wink:
