New problem? (MAF sensor?)

Tonight, my idle was unusually high after 30 or minutes of highway driving.
It was hovering around 1300-1500 rpms instead of the usual 750-800.

Here’s a video (unfortunately it’s upside down cause it was dark and I didn’t realize I was holding the camera the wrong way but you get the jist).

So I plug in my laptop and see this fault code below. I clear the fault code and instantly the revs drop but then the fault comes right back and the revs go up again (you’ll notice in the fault code, it says “Fault Codes have been Erased” and then a MAF Sensor fault code right below).

I clear the fault code a second time, again the revs drop right away and this time, the fault code doesn’t come back and the revs stay down. What do you guys think? Just a sensor problem or something more serious?

Thanks.

yes. Its not the end of the world. See if it comes back in the next few weeks. Its normal to actually have a loss of maf signal. Most stock guys would never notice it.

Clear it and see if it comes back in the next few weeks. You can see first hand just how important the MAF is when its not sending proper signal

chances are it’s a sensor issue since it cleared… not likely that it’s a leak or it would not stop till you fixed the leak.
Have you thought about cleaning the sensor with some electronics cleaner or maf cleaner.
I did it on my s8 and it worked wonders for me.

I agree with the above. If you do get the code again, I suggest checking the connections where the MAF was extended to make sure there are no loose wires.

Axel what was your fix? For I keep getting P0101 16485 MAF code. It comes and goes randomly. I Put in a brand new MAF still does it. I’ve checked for leaks and electrical connections.
