Yeah, they posted on AW with the title discuss and then haven’t replied yet? I asked for the diameter so I can compare to the APR to see where the pulley will put the blower in it’s operating range… APR is conservative IMO and could squeeze a little more boost out of the current blower before just blowing hot air… lol

Price guesses? JHM makes a crank pulley that is harmoniously balanced for the externally balanced BHF engine. They only charge $350 for that. I have no idea how APR charges $550 (succesfully) for theirs.

This thing should be maybe $150+$30 for a new belt.

I would say 300-350… APR’s pulley doesn’t require a new belt all though you do get one… They charge what they do as until this launches they are the only show in town…

well…they were. Now you can get APR Stage II performance with a Revo stage I tune that is $300 cheaper and doesn’t require a $550 pulley upgrade. GIAC+AWE pulley should be similar.

The merits of the files can be debated all day, but ReVo is selling pretty well and I’d submit that APR has slowed WAY down with the competition. They’ll focus on B8 S4 hardware now and B8 S5 3.0T software will get their attention.

p.s. have you noticed…the only GIAC car on the entire quarter mile database is 1fastS4/GIACdealer/scammer? What’s with that? Is GIAC not selling well?

Yeah not sure about Giac… They have a lot of folks on the other site that brag about how much more the tune makes then apr but no 1/4 mile times other than Tyson and his was basically the same as mine… As for revo they use timing vs boost… Gonna be risky with boost and timing IMO… The sample is not to big with them either… Tribe, auditude, and s Quattro 4… I don’t believe anything from auditude and I still think he was running race gas but obviously can’t prove that… Let’s say he was, then his time is basically the same as my tune/intake time of 12.38 but he wasn’t running the intake… S Quattro 4 has a fast car even stock and a good track… Tribe times seems legit but didnt he have some issues? Why hasn’t auditude ran with the 100 tune? Or did he and not perform any better? I think revo is scrambling to keep up… But hey what do I know… Time will tell…

I don’t GIAC Audi tunes have been the same since Countvaugh stopped helping them… look at the VF blowers and the Stasis garbage for the V8s

auditude wasn’t running race gas…I believe it was 93 now.

we went to the strip with a REVO car don’t forget…he was fucking flying. 12.3-12.4 @ 112-113…just like auditurd’s dad and tribe.

It was the day I went 12.75. The same day a DSG GIAC 91 car went 12.89 as his best.

Revo is legit, performance wise. NOt sure about safety wise…that’s very up for debate.

The GIAC tune is legit, from my experience, and I’m looking fwd to the pulley. Look at Tsivas data, my car did pretty well in the mix and that was with the first flash that was bleeding boost after 5500 RPM. I have since had a new file flashed and it is noticeable above 6K. We’ll see if the AWE/GIAC pulley will allow the car to hit 130 without the shift to 5th, that in itself makes a big difference with the APR cars (stg2/V2). I will get to the track one of these days, however I am not a very good drag racer. Someone should setup another tri-state/new england meet.

Is it just me or is it hilarious that an ASP is a dangerous snake?

Yeah, it’s pretty bogus really especially with all of their comments about how fast it feels and such… They won’t take up my vagcom offer either, I told them I would ship it to them and walk them through how to use it but crickets… They would rather just claim how fast it is… I guess will have to wait for a paying customer and hope they are into drag racing or data logging…

That ASP thread on QW/AW is so full of fail. Love the picking on Saki like he is the antichrist. All the guy is asking are legitimate questions based on a shady past from a certain tuning company. The best part is getting defensive when asked if it was free and comparing volunteering this to info about your family, job, purchases. Wrong person to pick to beta tune. Why even post if you aren’t gonna answer any questions or why not WAIT til it’s official release.

BTW- all the beta testers I have encountered or logged were free :wink:

Someone’s impressions of a tune over hard data we can see. LOL. Then add the “unsuspecting m3” comment and some mention of 370 whp. Buuuut- can’t talk about it any further.

He isn’t a drag racer comment. LOL. so what. The DSG is pretty fool proof. Trap is what counts anyways. My friend John never went to the track and after two runs was hitting consistent times when he was stage 1. He wasn’t going for any records.

Those guys are allergic to performance. They are all nerds and like logging and talking about being fast more than actually doing anything with their cars. They go to the road course hpde with an instructor holding their hand for them and then come back to the forums with some high and mighty attitude like they’re gods gift to driving. Of course if they ever do race someone or hit the drag strip they cut 2.5 second sixty foot times and take 9 tenths of a second to shift each gear.

That’s reason number two why they won’t hit the strip…they know they’re bench racers and the timeslip will shine a spotlight on the fact that these are in fact not driving gods…but instead the geek losers who were never good at anything requiring physical ability or coordination.

Reason number one us simple…their parts fucking suck and they know the strip will also show that.

I also love getting called a “young pup and having a lot to learn” on qw. Like my age has anything to do with the relevant questions being asked and the people I am supporting.

Still no answer to Prime’s vag com request and as far as the 1/4 mile time- we will probably never see. heck- we still haven’t seen any GIAC non race gas times. Or I am wrong?

Lets set-up a time to go to the track, get a bunch of different tunes/combos. I’ll do it, in the fun of comparison sake. There is a track out in Jersey, like an hour or so from the GWB, Island Raceway (I think). They have tes’n’tune on fri nites.
