NEW RECORD B7 RS4 NA DYNO RUN! I MEAN 1/4 MILE RUN!

fuck I thought you were going to say dyno lol

I’ve been to the road corse a few times. Not in the rs4. It is fun for sure but I don’t love it. I’m also 6’5" and being trapped in a car with limited headroom in a race situation is tough, made rougher while wearing a helmet. Also I vomit. I have PCS and road course makes me queasy.
I would go in a more track focused cs4 once in a while but I can’t be bothered to go in my 4000 LB RS4. You may say the same about the 1/4 mile but although it’s fun, I’m really there to gather data. Whether that’s to evaluate my mods or to provide data for you guys to evaluate, or to get footage for JHM to make a video, it’s more utilitarian for me rather than a pastime (no pun intended).

The 1/4 mile is really my dyno.

Crap…that was a 12.18-12.19 if you didn’t miss 4th. I was watching it. I was staging right behind you and the track worker thought something was wrong because I started telling and waving my hands. It was you missing fourth (I heard) I was screaming at.

Didn’t realise your winters were actually HEAVIER than stock wheels. I will edit my original post to eliminate any reference to LW wheels.

47.4 lbs, so maybe lighter once you factor in there being less rubber.

Really good runs, and really highlights the abilities of these cars in accepting aftermarket parts. Also, highlights abilities of great driving!

Its nothing like stock. I personally like it. Its a bit heavier because of the R pressure plate, and there’s much less engagement zone. You have to be a bit on/off with it.

There is some chatter combined with the lwfw, but its probably amplified for me because of the hard tranny mounts.

I don’t mind it at all for tooling around town and like it more than stock, but I’d suggest you try one out if possible.

makes total sense…he has me by a good 20-30 hp. The JHM tune is no joke and the lightweight parts help a bit too.

He was referring to Dan’s 1/4 mile all motor in the RS4. He went 12.29 @ 111 something. Back in November 2011.

Good question. Acceleration wise? Since we have a bunch of JHM mods, let’s compare to JHM’s kits and the economics. All cars on pump gas

Stock - 12.8-13.0 @ 107-108
My car - 12.5-12.6 @ 110 (+$3000 vs stock)
Mistro’s car - 12.2-12.3 @ 113 (+$5000 vs stock)
JHM stage 1 - 11.6-11.8 @ 117-119 ($7900 kit +$1000 JHM downpipes , total around $9,000 vs stock)
JHM stage 2 - 10.9-11.3 @ 125-129 (+$11,900 + $1000 downpipes + $1800 clutch kit + maybe fuel pump around $15,000 vs stock)

If you have Mistro’s car and want to go 11.1 @ 125 you don’t need anything but the JHM stage 2 kit (+$12,000). If you want to go high 11s @ 117 you need stage 1 kit (+$7900).

The other kits are all much more expensive so the numbers start to make you think about buying another car. To go APR 1740 from stock, you need clutch kit, downpipes , supercharger, fuelling = $22,000

For perspective in terms more palpable, let’s pretend these various cars did a short side by side race from 50 MPH in 2nd to the top of 3rd at 100 MPH

Stock vs. Me = 1-2 cars
Stock vs. Mistro = 3-4 cars
Stock vs. JHM stage 1 = 6 cars
Stock vs. JHM stage 2 = 10 cars+

If we ran it out to the middle of 4th at 120 MPH

Stock vs. Me = 3 cars
Stock vs. Mistro = 6 cars
Stock vs. JHM stage 1 = 10 cars
Stock vs. JHM stage 2 = 17-18 cars

Saki – Just curious…why are you only adding DPs for the SC car examples in the comparison and not the catback as well?

Because the larger down pipes are highly recommended, really crucial for a number of reasons for a S/C application and a cat back larger than oem size isn’t needed but recommended for best performance.

Don’t need a catback but you should help get precats away from the motor.

You can run piggies too. Stock dps are 2.61".

Apr test car had magnaflow dp and stock catback

Marcus stage 1 jhm has jhm dp and stock catback.

Catback should help but not needed per se. I was only posting what you really should have to go supercharger.

Mine did at the time, however I decided for CBE after driving it. The JHM CBE just sounds soooooooo good…

yes it sure does. Had mine on since late October 2013 and nothing but compliments about once a week - (non res version and piggie pipes on my car, really happy with the final product)

OK – based on this are you saying JHM DPs can connect to a stock exhaust?

I have stock DPs connected to MTM. Does this mean I can connect JHM DPs to MTM?

To me if this was possible I would have a great setup with that combo. I get the valved exhaust…not that I need to have valved since I do prefer the sound in S mode.

I have been behind Kryptronics car which has JHM catless downpipes and non resonator CBE … to me it was one of the best sounding exhaust.

The best sounding exhaust…maybe not for power to me is Capristo with remote…just a beautiful sound. It is amazing.

We have the the option to neck down to stock sizing. So if your MTM exhaust mounts to stock DPs then you should have no issue using our DPs.

However, you will have a whole upgraded exhaust system with a stock sized cork in the center.

you can do anything. Step down. Bang. Done.

As for mtm I’m pretty sure they never made a downpipe for the rs4…yet flying tomatoes claims he has them in his old modlist signature. I will assume he has jhm 2.75 downpipes and connected them to mtm. So ask him since it sounds like he already did it.

He said he would register so maybe you can ask him here…lol.

Great passes guys. And congrats, Mistro, for setting a new record!

Interesting about the ISFs. I’ve generally seen high 12s as well for that car. With the exception of my last time at the track - a guy with a 2008 ISF with full exhaust and low weight wheels was running 12.2 consistently and even hit 12.1 at one point. That’s a pretty significant delta compared with stock for just those two mods. Do you know whether the guy with slicks was running any additional mods?

I’m pretty sure he had something going on since he was at the dragstrip with drag slicks lol. You don’t just show up with slicks on your stock car too often. I haven’t ever seen that anyway.

Maybe he’s the stockimano of the ISF world?

His traps were in the 113 range from what I saw, and the other guys were trapping 112 and 108-109 respectively. So I reckon the other 112 guy was tuned+exhaust or something as was slicks guy…the slicks just meant 12.4 vs. 12.8-12.9

Where do they post…must be out there somewhere.

my.is? What’s the good ISF forum?

Edit: They mentioned running against an RS4 wagon. I assume that was Axel?
