New Ride

Here’s my thread on the issue, which includes Audi’s description of the problem.

Thnx, Sak. The color is definitely growing on me. I really like the way it looks with the tinted windows. Pretty sharp.

I should clarify that my extended warranty is 6 years or 100,000 miles. Given my driving history with the B8 (5 years almost to the date and 21,000 miles), I’m reasonably confident that I’ll hit 6 years before 100k. But you’re right, I could wind up losing on it if the car really is that bulletproof. I was willing to accept that risk.

I think there’s only 1 service campaign for the ISF. There was a small issue with the radiator. Not a huge deal. They inspect the radiator and decide if it needs a new radiator or just a couple of small pieces. Other than that, we hardly see an ISF in for anything more than just oil change or normal wear item replacements.

If you need any info or parts feel free to contact me. I work in parts and will help anyway I can

Going on what saki said, there’s no tuning for these cars. But the headers and exhaust end up gaining huge amounts

Why aren’t there any tunes available for the isf? I guess those with headers and exhaust just drive around with a cel?

Appreciate it, man. I’ll hit you up if I have any questions.

The toyota ecu’s have a wide mapping range and pretty much adapts to any bolt on parts. If you ever go bigger than just normal bolt ons, you have to get a piggyback type system

I know PPE headers has something that comes with their headers to trick the o2 sensors. they call it an electronic o2 conditioner

There is guys running 150 shots of nitrous with no added tuning and the car runs just fine.

These are what the guys on my amg forum are using to get rid of cat efficiency codes, is this what you are talking about?

Most likely. I havent seen one yet, just noticed they give it a fancy name

Silver is fast

^^ nice one. That’s pretty fast for just an intake and exhaust.

Car looks great in silver! Congrats!

Thanks, man! Appreciate it.

Sad to see the S4 go. Thanks for your input and knowledge over the time ive been here. Glad you picked up something you have been wanting though. Thats a great feeling!

Didn’t know there were this many Chicago guys! We should set up a track day in the fall, route 66, GLD, or 41…

You bet, man. You’re a valuable member here.

Definitely. There are quite a few of us here. Let’s set up a time this fall to all hit the track. 66, GLD, or 41 are fine for me.

Doing some early homework on my much-needed winter tire/wheel package. Based on what I’m reading at the ClubLexus forum, I don’t see any reason not to go with Tirerack’s preferred setup. Not as expensive as what I was expecting:

The ISF has a “snow mode,” but I still believe a dedicated winter setup is essential for this car, given the RWD. I’ve had AWD for the past 10 years, so it should be a little interesting with the new ride this winter.

lol good luck!

Snow mode just kind of neuters throttle. It creates a weird elastic feeling. Helps a little but won’t help entirely. You will be sick of the beep beep beep and flashing traction symbol when you spin them.

Definite get dedicated winters.

Personally I always try to use oem wheels for winters so the car always looks great. Our winters are about 4 months long so it’s a long time to use an ugly wheel. Not saying those are ugly. Just in general people get awful winters.

Hakkapeliittas would be my vote
