New Ride

I decided to trade in the S4 this week for a 2009 ISF. The S4 is a fantastic car. Unfortunately, I did not have the greatest experience with it due to various out-of-warranty repairs. Here are some pics - I’ll update this thread with additional info later. And obviously I will be hitting the track this fall.

And I found another one at the grocery store last night - pretty rare in Chicago.

Congrats bud! Car looks very nice, how many miles? Looking forward to your impressions…

Did you consider or drive anything else?

Wish your S4 experience ended differently… i appreciate everything you’ve done in regards to the platform as you added a ton and helped many, including me…

Thnx, prime! I’m pretty excited about it - picked it up on Wednesday night, so I haven’t had a chance to drive much. It has 61,000 miles but came with a 3 year CPO warranty, which I extended to six. Normally I wouldn’t have considered a car with that high mileage, but the warranty and the fact that it’s a Lexus persuaded me otherwise.

I did not consider anything else. I’ve wanted this car for a while now, and given my rear diff issue with the S4, I decided it was time to move on. So I ran a search for CPO ISFs within 150 miles of Chicago and found this one. I was pretty much sold before the test drive, but driving it definitely solidified my decision.

And I appreciate your comments - it was a blast modding my S4 and getting involved with the Audi community. I will certainly stick around here, and I’ll probably start posting on the F forums as well. Looking forward to hitting the track in a few months!

Wow! Car seems to be in very nice shape from the pics… 6 year warranty on a 09 is crazy… Happy for you!

Those are nice looking cars. How does it compare power wise? Initial impression/gut feeling

Curious on your feedback as well. I used to work for lexus and the ISF was pretty cool, but honestly it felt very similar to an is350 but throttle response and exhaust note was obviously better! I had a similar gen gs350 for a year and it was actually a decent car and bullet proof reliability as anticipated.

Curious what a nice x pipe exhaust setup and suspension mods what yield on the track. Love the color btw!

^^ thnx! Black would have been my preferred color, but there really wasn’t much choice, as they are pretty rare cars.

As far as driving impressions, I’ll let you guys know more after I drive it this weekend. I’m playing golf tomorrow in the suburbs, so I’ll get some good road time with it. Regarding mods, I plan to keep it stock for a while. The engine note is perfect - will probably take a while for me to want anything more.

Few more pics:

Which burb and course?

Love it. We will have to definitely meet up for some lower wacker fun next week.

I’m playing Harborside tomorrow. First time playing it and I hear it’s tough…

But but no awd and no manual… Congrats on a new ride man! You’ll be back though, four rings never let go

Congrats, man!

Love the color! And glad you’re in a V8…

Lockport - Broken Arrow. It’s just average - think I played a match there in high school.

Thnx! I’m down for lower wacker - I made a few videos there a while back with my S4 after installing the APR intake.

I’m dying to play Harborside - let me know what you think. I also heard it’s tough - both courses.

Thnx! And you’re likely right - I’ll probably be back in an Audi someday. Maybe the RS5 that I’ve talked about for years

I know - my first V8! Really happy with it. I went out for a drive tonight and took a few videos. I’ll post them up.

Congrats! I’m sure that V8 will bring many smiles. Always interesting to go in a different direction. Maybe the B9 RS5 will bring you back to the 4 rings.

Nice. If the isf were awd I’d own one. With it being RWD, and me being in Canada I drive year round though so it doesn’t work.

They sound great. In cabin has a very good intakey noise.

Silver looks excellent in that car. I think it’s better than black.

Nod wise, weirdly there are no tunes for it. There are a couple of exhaust options and headers (that actually work lol) are pretty reasonable.

With just exhaust and tires they’re trapping 112 or so at mid 12s.

Theyre also ad reliable as hell so you may not need that warranty.

Service at lexus is great.

All around solid car. With jo isf this Gen, looks like it is a good buy, and may not depreciate that much.

Here’s my experience with

" given my rear diff issue with the S4"
What exactly was the problem? I’m currently trying to find someone to install my new JHM helical LSD.
