New to the S4 world

Hi All.

I am a newbie S4 owner. Just thought I would introduce myself and describe my car. I am the proud and happy owner of a Brilliant black on black, 6MT B7. 73K on the odometer and 17K on the engine, clutch and AC compressor. I already have some mods waiting to go on. In my garage are new air,cabin,oil and fuel filters, new fluids and detailing gear. The Mods are: Stop Tech SS lines. Apikol snub, yellow fog light bulbs,front bumper black side markers, RS4 black optic grille,JHM short shifter and a Spoonfed Tuning carbon fiber lip. As soon as the lip gets here I will begin work on the car and I will post some picks. Also gotta figure out that damn Bently CD. Come to find out it does not run on Windows 8…have to run some windows XP emulation software. I may ditch the whole thing and try to find a genuine paper copy. Anyhow, I love this car for so many reasons. My favorite is the sleeper aspect. What people see is another older guy driving a nice tame luxury sedan. What they experience is a sudden V8 growl and a black sedan leaving them at the light. I plan to keep this car subdued in appearance but amped up a bit in performance. will add a cat back that is not to loud. A JHM tune and some nice wheels. No flash or extra badgeing …my belief is that if you really are a bad ass you do not need to advertise it. I want to keep the sleeper aspect of this awesome car.

Honestly if I had to mod all over again:

  1. Piggies
  2. JHM supercharger
  3. Clutch when the stock one gives
    and probably mounts.

Don’t waste your money on a 2.25" catback IMHO. It is also kind of hard to open a V8 up and keep it quiet at the same time.

Welcome… You sound of the same opinion as me, keep it a sleeper.

Great news for you that the engine only has 17k on it, that’s a godsend. What’s the story on that ??

Welcome. You’ll soon find out this is the best forum for actual knowledge and all the members are here that actually do and or did all the modifications to their cars.

X 14.5 on the sleeper. I removed all the badges and had a magnetic VW badge to stick on the rear. Hehe. ;D

Pics will be forthcoming…I will post some before and afters. JimGreen…the previous owner had a “catastrophic engine failure” at 56k. I do not know if it was just luck or what. All maintenance records indicate that she was well taken care of. New engine will be pampered and warmed up properly. no chain rattle yet of course. But here is the thing…I am going to to drive this car like it was meant to be driven. Driven with zest and respect. Keep up on the maintenance and hope for the best. Honestly, I did not buy an S4 to drive it around like an A4 so i will get on it at times and laugh my ass off as i am pressed back into the Alcantra. Anyway I have rambled enough!

Regarding the Bentley…

I got a super cheapo Asus netbook off ebay to keep in the car. It runs the manual, as well as VAGCOM, just fine.
