New wheels ordered!

I went with 18x9.5 ET45 Enkei RPF1 with 255/40/18 General G-Maxx Tires. According to Tirerack the combo is 42.6lbs which is a weight savings of 16.4lbs per side! I had to order hub rings and wobble bolts for the Fitment since they only make them in 18x8 in 5x112 which is not wide enough to run 255/40. I chose 255/40 because I can still hit 130 in 4th and my current 245’s barely hit 130 and I lose time on 60-130 bc I’m laying on the limiter to hit it. I’m excited to see what difference the wheels make in performance.

The 18x9.5 also offer a nice concave face and with the 40 sidewall they’re should be no visible stretch on the 9.5.

Next mod will be light weight rear rotors and a light weight battery

Wow, that is a huge weight reduction per wheel! I think you’ll be amazed with the improvements in all areas, braking, cornering and of course acceleration.

Curious to hear the real world before and after results.

Love the RPF1’s. I don’t recall ever seeing a B8 with them on. Great choice, that’s over 60 lbs of rotating mass saved!

11’s on pump or bust. ;D

oh boy!!

18x9.5 is awesome. 114.3?

wobble bolts is the worst product name ever lol. Why not call them vibration bolts? Or wheels flying off bolts? Not exactly instilling confidence. We should come up with something there…

deflection or offset mount bolts?

MUCH better

I just sold my 18x9 5x112 et35. Won’t clear my brakes without too much spacing.

And I have a spare in the same config as you ordered but with a 245 tire. Bought a single to see if I could make those work, but again no go without too much spacing. Even a 15mm adaptor did not get me enough room.

Super bummed on all fronts with those damn wheels.

Nice choice though, wish I could have made them fit my b5. Too much hassel in the end.

just go 18x8 on the B5 maybe? 245 should be plenty on a B5

Na. While I like form to follow function, those “convex” rpf1 look like ass…compared to the flat/concave faced ones. Anything below 9 wide and no bueno with regard to those in the looks dept.

Sorry to get a bit off topic, but I will prolly end up getting trm mt1’s. 19.5 lbs in 18x8.5 config and I know they clear bbk and be done with it. Still reasonably light. But 2 lbs heavier than the 18x9.5 rpf1’s

You will definitely notice the weight savings and they are significant. However those new wheel are going to be exposed to curbage relatively easy with a 255 width and corning will suffer as well. Also doesnt the B8 S4 come stock with 19s? (may not like the look with smaller diameter wheels)

Im on michilin pss 265x30x19 all around which just barely give me a little rim protection on 19x9 and I love the super low profile around the twisties noticeable better than 35. Looks amazing but the downside is that I feel every little bump in the road

enjoy the weight savings and quicker acceleration

i was amazed at the difference my 20lbs wheels made over the stockers

Well I’m happy you posted this- I called tirerack and I sent them my brake template and what do you know- they don’t fit… Guess it’s time to find another option, luckily I caught them before they shipped…

:frowning:

Ah. Cool, I guess. Nice catch.

They also make them in a 18x9.5 et38. From what I know those just barely clear Porsche 17z and 18z calipers…no spacers needed.

And, how did you get tire rack to let you buy / search for a different bolt pattern?

Do you think they could just be saying they won’t fit since they are not made for the Audi in that bolt pattern (x 114.3)?

I have a wholesale account so I know a guy who helped me- I sent him my brake template and its way off so he said even with spacers it’s a no go.

Ahhh, well good thing you checked em out. Glad you caught it!

What did you end up getting? I just put these on this morning. ;D
