Decided I had to share the new wheels I picked up:
Ispiri CSR1D
19x10et22 front
19x10et32 rear
Thats VIP slammed style. What was on before? What suspension setup as well?
Had 20x10et35 Rotiform SPF before:

Riding on Airlift Performance struts and Accuair elevel management.
both wheels are nice… nice suspension setup too. I’m not sure if you get snow where you are but how much lift do you get with that suspension? Can you go higher than stock height?
…sexy. if we didn’t have such horrible streets and weather, air suspension would’ve been under consideration on previous car. this one not so much, due to track days.
I’m in Winnipeg, MB… we get lots of snow and -30C winters. Lift range is 4.5" so it’s a bit higher than stock at full height.
I’ve had coilovers before but this wins hands down, in terms of comfort and performance.
You’d be surprised by the stiffness available with the air suspension. the airlift performance struts are 30 way adjustable shocks, while you can’t adjust compression/rebound separately it’s pretty nice to dial in.
if you were closer to Winnipeg Manitoba in Canada I’d offer a drive in my car. There’s a few youtube videos about the accuair system on the B8 S4 that you should look at.
I’d say this rides as stiff and responsive as any quality coilover setup.
I love air suspension, Coming from Porsche trucks I would be inclined to have it on all my vehicles where not cost prohibitive.
That said I’d love to compare to the v8a6 coil setup back to back, I think I would even surprise myself on which one I might enjoy better all around with all out capabilities in mind.
Wish I was closer to Canada to check it all out.
That’s the rub. It ain’t cheap. Struts, shocks and rear bags was $1800USD; I bought my accuair management used for $1,000USD and then add another $500 or so in parts, brackets, ect to get it ready.
Installed it myself over a weekend. Suspension is pretty straight forward, running air lines was easy as the A6/S6 body had factory air ride in some cars so there are some nice channels to run them. Figuring out the accuair level sensors was alot of work, and if anyone wants to see pics of the mounts let me know. I couldn’t find any online, so I was on my own to figure out a system. It was 5 hours for the suspension components, and 10 or so just figuring out the sensors. Not sure what a shop would charge to install but likely in the 8-12hr range plus whatever time you’d take setting up the trunk install.
Overall I’m super happy with the setup, roads here are terrible, and it gives me the option for a factory to higher than factory ride height. of course parking air’d out looks great, so that’s another benefactor.
I think this is the way to go when cost is a minimal factor. Go head and post up those intricate photos, either in this thread or a separate one, when it sits lower but not dumped so you feel it handles much better than stock? Is the change on demand or when staying still or can you change at speed? I love this feature on my Cayenne, as you can raise and lower to any spec but loading and Terrain mode if you are under approximately 80 mph. With a tuning cable you can override and go even lower but I have not. At over certain speed on the highway it will automatically place in the lower mode, the system is well designed and would love to be able to do that on a c6 s6.
Is it hard to lock in an alignment with this setup? That’s true on air suspension as what the c6 a6 avant ran air suspension right, or other ROW models? The s8 runs air (and I already asked about retroing it on a c6 with no positive feedback) or so it’s not like air is foreign to working on an audi one bit ;-). Glad to we you do it and do it well with nice results.
Good idea. When I have some time soon, I’ll take some good pics of the whole set up. From trunk to bag install itself.
With the accuair elevel it uses level sensors at each corner to monitor your desired heights, it constantly adjusts for changes in height, bag pressures, ect. So there are 3 Height settings that you can set to your discretion, plus the “all down” function. I have the i-level controller that allows for the system to be controlled by an iphone/ipod or android over wifi. I use an ipod for my system.
As far as alignment goes, you get it done at the ride height you think you’ll use the most… if you didn’t already know when installing our control arms you need to torque them at ride height, so you need an alignment, then you can torque those control arms down properly.
The factory air ride just doesn’t have the features that the accuair has. I think it would be money better spent then trying to retrofit the S8 air system, I’m sure you could retrofit the wagon air ride (the rear is likely different) and I looked into using the air tank from the factory system as it’s hidden under a panel in the hatch area.
Do you still have the Rotiforms?
Yes. They’re forsale locallly.
