Nuespeed P-Chip???

So i was online searching for a cat back exhaust system and i came across this on nuespeed.com and caught my attention.

http://www.neuspeed.com/20/11/0/2423/chip3l30v-neuspeed-p-chip.html

Yea heard of it.

“Our software re-maps ignition timing, air fuel ratios, rev limiter (manual trans) and speed limiter”

Translation: Lower mpg, no real world performance gain, higher rev limiter (useless as it doesn’t make any more power in the higher rpms) and removes the speed limiter.

Pass.

Ya I thought it was too good to be true anyways. But the site made it sound legit. All i want is a better response when hitting the throttle

Back in the day when the watercooled VW tuning game first started, then I would say that the P-Chip was a decent option (had them do a custom tune for my built VR6). Today, there are much better choices.

Well the JHM tune gives you that. All the other chips, and even audi stock tuning give a false pedal response when you press it slightly, giving more throttle than you are actually asking for, which gives the fake impression of more power/speed The jhm tune modulates the response to be even, so it reacts much smoother to your input. And then there’s the whole extra horsepower/torque/speed thing that comes into play as well :stuck_out_tongue:

I was just looking at the JHM ECU tune and it doesnt give an option for a 2002. it says 2003-2005 only. Do they not do it for my car?

That’s the S4 tune. Do you have an s4 or a4? it only says that because the s4 wasnt made in 2002. The a4 tune isnt released to the public yet, will be very soon though. FWIW almost all of the R+D was done on an '02

Its an a4. This guy has an a4 3.0 with the tune apparently…

Who the hell is that guy?! ^^^

hahahahah. Taylor a few of us have beta versions of the tune. There is also a transmission tune for the automatic guys.

I tried to upload a video of the tcu tune the other night but AR wouldn’t uplaoad it. I only got up to 135 though ::slight_smile:

Man I don’t even want to say how high I got mine up to when I got my ECU tune. I’m not a big fan of crazy high speed driving, I just like the rush from going WOT 0-100 ;D

So how long till they release the tune to the public you think? and how did you end up getting a beta?

We were just overly willing to try it out and fell into the right place. Only a select few of us got a chance to test it I believe. I know the ECU tune is the single best thing I have bought for the car, and like others have said before, it is worth double what they will be charging.

They went thru a boat load of testing so it shouldn’t be too much longer. The awesome thing about JHM is they won’t release stuff until they know it is perfect. They do it right, the first time.

He will be your best friend.
;D

Also I was thinking about the ecu tune being my first project on my car. I am new to the forum and a new 3.0 owner. The car is stock with a few exterior mods but I dont even know where to start with the engine? what would you do first?

Anything worth anything for the engine will be thru JHM. No other company has come close to anything they have developed so far. ECU would be a great start, but make sure your engine is up to par. First thing you’ll see when you start adding power is the cars weaknesses. Also check out the modded air box, for a couple bucks it’s a great mod and only takes a few minutes. Welcome and good luck, you have come to the right place!

+1 listen to Zingo, he know what he is talking about about the JHM products and the weaknesses of our cars :stuck_out_tongue: . After the tunes next step will be downpipes, I would like to know what your build date on your car is, there are some difference between the build dates

i will def agree with zingo. i did the airbox mod he is talking about and didnt notice a whole lot of power but cruzin i went from 25-26 highway mpg to 30-32 cruising at 70. and around town i went from 20 to 26ish. so even if your not looking foor power its a great inexpensive mod. and i highly recommend it.
