Off-Roaders

Seems like a few people have some Jeeps and others apart from Audi’s

These 2 cars are my dads, my family have been into heavily modified 4WD since I was born.

My dad has had 2 off the charts 4wd,

The first was a 1985 Range Rover, which he had from new to when we sold it in 2006. Everything on this car was custom, we replaced the engine 3 times in the pursuit for more torque and power. The final engine was the 4.6 V8 out of the 96 Range Rover, and even that was not left alone.

The next was a 06 Nissan Patrol (the pic below is from 07 so more stuff has been done to it since)

Post up pics of what the rest of you guys have

^Both some sick cars. That Range is AWESOME, me and a couple good buddys always joke that will be one of outs next cars. Just such a cool car that is certainly timeless!

Here’s my Jeep, thankfully the previous owner did all the mods, but I’m enjoying them now and have taken it on our property a couple times offloading, but nothing serious yet.

Thats a nice looking Jeep.

There is something about a Range Rover, I have been all over Australia in the back of that Range Rover as a kid. My dad would have kept it, but the gearbox and transfer case shat it self and it was like $13k for a maybe fix. We then traded it in for the Nissan and then proceeded with modifying that.

I’ve recently picked up a bone stock 05 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 5.7 (Quadratrac II so low range and limited slip diffs)… no mods and only soft roaded it so far (which was awesome since its a short cut I always had to skip with the A6).

I’m hesitant to really mod it out to offroad though. Its such a nice daily (rides great, sharp steering for a truck, quiet) I dont want to ruin it. I may also look to tow with it (hence why I got the 5.7), and dont want to lose the utility there.

I think I’ll get some roof racks for my skis/kayaks, tint for the front windows, and a leather armrest and a trailer and be done with it.

Had a lifted pre-runner style f150. Now I have a wrangler tj with rubicon express lift, 35’s, 4:1 diff, and a 2 low gear. Thing crawls. I’ll get pics up later.

Stumbled on this at lunch today … Top Truck Challenge

forgot about this thread…

I can’t believe that you are getting out of your A6.

So how hard is it for you to not mod the jeep. I have seen some video’s of those Hennesy Jeeps and they are ridiculous

yeah the A6 is getting sold/parted because it wont pass emissions and in order to make it do so wouldn’t be worth it to me. Its too big of a car to race, not that I have any desire for that anymore.

I love the utility of the Jeep so the mods I have planned will enhance that. If I wanna do a fast car its going to be something old, but I honestly have more fun skiing fast than driving fast so idk when that’ll happen.

wise decisions there

SRT8 grill. Looks nice. I might do the DIY version on our Laredo since it’s already red

S6atron will buy your headers. PM him. We talked about that on the weekend.

yeah I considered doing it DIY but I’m too lazy and I know I’d ened up getting the factory piece at some point.

I’m not sold on the color match (with all other chrome it looks out of place), but the factory mesh is the best. Super easy swap, took 5 minutes.

thanks for the heads up

Jeep’s looking good man.

Seeing the nice wide flare on the A6 is also sweet.

is that the top of the line fancy one (non SRT of course)?

nav and stuff inside?

no unfortunately not, its a limited, the overlands are the top spec. They have color matched lowers, model specific (brushed aluminum accents) grill, side skirts, mirror caps, roof rack bars, rear step pad and hatch brow, plus alcantara seat inserts and other interior touches.

The nav wasn’t worth the extra cost to me, my phone’s navigation works very well and is free to me.

they invented a new trim name lol

used to be the grand cherokee limited was the baller vehicle. A guy I went to high school with had one and we all thought it was a ridiculously awesome ride for a 17 year old. His brother actually plays in the NHL.

well the Overland title comes from the Overland Automobile Company which was bought by Willys, its supposed to be heritage but I think that its normally lost.

For the WKs, the limited was the standard big motor/leather/chrome/body color moldings package.
