Wow. stolen? that sucks. My future plans don’t include BBK, but do include 20" chrome spinners, or maybe just some nice 19" VMR710, or equivalent. Remember my first intro thread on EA? I was planning to get headers, but the cost of them plus install vs a supercharger was a no brainer. Now of course I want to add them or at least downpipes (the horsepower is nice, but it’s the torque that you feel!), and after making the mistake of talking to the Count, I also want a new intake, and spacers. Sigh…
It’s amazing how much I love the car. I get such a kick out of driving it, and listening to it - my wife just drove away in it, and I jumped up to run to the window to listen and watch…
The only other thing I might have done differently, is a Fast Intentions exhaust. I paid a few hundred $ to rehab the magna, so it wasn’t worth the hassle…
2.5" downpipes are nice but piggies will serve you well for now. 2.5 gets real loud so keep that in mind
manifold would be great for the SC cars
intake spacers are so essential I can’t really emphasize it enough. It seems silly, but they’re key.
fast intentions vs. magnaflow is a good difference, but I don’t think I’d lose a bunch of money chasing it at this point
So, if I had your car, I’d probably just get intake spacers and some LW wheels if you need wheels. The TSW Nuburgring in 19x8.5 would be cool (do they exist) and are a good bit lighter than VMR710. Better yet, skip wheels and get an intake manifold. Then get LW rotors when your rotors need replacing. Better than LW wheels, and far far cheaper.
Then I’d look at the 2.5" downpipes but not sure if you need cats. catted 2.5 are damn expensive. Catless are much cheaper but not sure if emissions are an issue (or big noise+catless stink).
^Those TSW wheels really are a great combo/deal. I wish I’d known about them when I did my VMR, it wouldn’t have even been a question which one I’d go with.
I also gotta second how big of a tq difference the good 2.5" setup is, especially if you can go catless (but as said, magnaflow for half the price is tough to beat). It is a good bit louder. . . but I LOVE IT! Personal thing though I guess. I
f ya gotta go catted, I wouldn’t think about anything but piggies or headers imo.
Also, I don’t know how I feel about the IM on the s/c cars. I know it absolutely helps. . . but I think the bigger gain is on the N/A cars. Once you have the blower the air is forced there either way (obviously helps still), so me personally, I’d spend the grand somewhere else. I already had the IM, so I’ve kept it, but I’ve often thought of selling for some cash to put elsewhere, but too much work & I like the powder coat wrinkle red too much.

I’m just saying X% increase for NA vs X% increase for S/C, it seems like it would help out more dollar for dollar in the NA case. I kinda took it to be like the 2.5" magnaflow vs 2.5" F.I. Maybe it’s more like 2.25" vs 2.5" though.
I’ve never gotten into much of a deep conversation about it with JHM other than with Dan@JHM when I ordered it and he started telling me about the blower. At the time the only blowers were manifold mounted and started asking if I had to sell it to get the blower and he explained about it being centrifugal and not mounted in the manifold.
Do I see dolphin grey on white? I fucking love white leather. When I was looking for an s4 years ago I found a sprint blue b7 on white leather for a fantastic price certified. It was perfect, but my dad told me that if I bought a car with white leather, he would be convinced I was gay and my sister said the same thing too. So I didn’t, and now I wish I did lol
D that’s a hilarious story. I laughed real hard reading that one. I love the white seats too. I almost bought an Avus Silve RS4 with the white seats (they have black piping).
Apat - that car looks fantastic. With the black grill did you ever think of blacking out the trim somehow (window trim)? Would look really tough and awesome. Dolphin/Daytona B7s are awesome. What wheels do you rock in the summer?
LOL 91. Thats some funny stuff. I though white leather = coke dealer…haha… but they’ve grown on me.
@Saki I’m planning on blacking out the window trim when it warms up this spring. I’ll be doing a wrap of some sort. My summers are 19" MRR GT1. They’re pretty damn light and should look good with the car lowered. They’re a mesh type wheel silver with a polished lip. Its like driving one car for half a year then another car for the other half.
