Hello I have a 2007 S6 purchased about a month ago with 80k miles on it. The car has an interesting history since it had been featured on at tv show. So my s6 was taken to an Audi dealership for the carbon service and to reseal the oil filter housing. When the car was dissembled a porter got it mixed up with another car he was directed to move and tried to start the car with the intake off!!! Before you ask I have no idea why the battery was still connected… Anyway gas plus spark equaled a very short lived fire. The dealership ate the car and the shop on the show purchased it to rebuild and sell. The show featured the rebuilding and sale of the car. Prior to this incident the dealership service record were more complete that any other cars I had researched. So between the great records and a video of the repairs after the fire I took a chance on the car. Damage was very limited to some paint work and wiring to O2 sensors. Carbon cleaning was done during the repair. I love reading about all the performance upgrades and track performance but this is a daily driver for me so I’m looking to keep this one simple. When I outgrow the performance I’ll move into one of the V8 turbos, either the RS7 or S8 plus but I’m very happy. For now

The car is equipped about the same as most I’ve seen.
brilliant black
carbon fiber
black leather

Current mods
K&N filters
window tint
Bluetooth adapter

Future mods

  1. Some sort of exhaust modifications I’m leaning toward a 3 inch custom cat back. Not looking to be obnoxious but I want to hear it!
  2. Catch can install if I can find room
  3. Custom air boxes to open up the intake a bit (if possible)
  4. Paint correction and ceramic coating, The water spots are KILLING ME…

Welcome, If you don’t plan to do other major work (headers, Sc etc)) 2.75 is perfect and retains exotic sound , or if budget affords get the jhm exhaust ! The intake has been explored before, there are areas of improvement but the oem setup is actually great it’s pressured and pulls cooler air from the grille. Get the IM spacers and jhm tune and thank us later

What tv show was it on? Cool story indeed.

Junkyard Empire is the show

I love the S6 seats more than regular A6 C6 S-Line seats.

Looks fantastic.

Not new to for forums but am new to a C6 S6, I picked up about 10 days ago. Owned 3 A8s, all LWB, allroad, and a few c5s. Was going to get an essay, but CV told me that if I ever wanted to take it to Thunderhill or Sanoma, the S6 will be a bit more enthusiastic. I was looking specifically for a V10 w/ New intake and with ACC. Finally my buddy called me and said he is going to forfeit his to mine for a very very good price.

Picked up the car with 120K on the clock for a price that I could sell it and still make 5K. Car is immaculate and…

The engine was replaced at 60K!!! So yes I am super stoked. Here are a few pics:

Great car what year…

for performance and track car the S6 dominates over the S8. The S8 is nice but not as able and nimble as the S6. Great track weapon once modded right.

This is the '07, now wish I could have gotten a MY08 or newer as I could do needle sweep and oil temp in the DIS…

That is the plan, I need to put a bit more $ in prior to it seeing the track but one day itll be there

I should do an intro since I posted today.

My name is Michael, I recently (Oct '18) bought a 2007 S6. I’ve been surfing the forum for a while to help me with my purchase and help understand things on my car.

VAG Car history: I’ve had a few Audi’s. I’ve had a TT, A5 manual, S5, two A3’s, current sedan and previous gen hatch. Many VAG other vehicles, lots of air cooled stuff when I was a kid in the eighties, probably over 10 type 1’s, one '69 transporter, a 412 wagon, and a '60 Karman Gia.

I recently changed jobs, which caused me to loose my assigned car, which was a chain of 6 Passats, so I wanted another car to supplement my '12 Tundra that mostly sits in the driveway and helps with my motorcycle and track day addiction. At first I wanted another 928. I had a 1980 manual that I loved, but it wasn’t a good choice for a daily driver… plus the cost of upkeep can be prohibitive (not to this crowd, maybe?) Next I thought I would try to find an S5 Manual V8. I loved my T3.0 S6, but it didn’t make the right sound. But, a two door just wasn’t right anymore for several reasons. Then I fell upon the C6 S6 through kind of a strange way. There was a C6 A6 avant for sale near me for a ridiculously low price. I loved the styling, subtle but strong. The 3.2 V6 was a nice engine, but not enthusiastic. So some research revealed the A6 S-line had the 4.2 V8… there ya go! but the rear timing chain with plastic tipped gears was not a strength… Finally, I realized there was a V10 S6 for a few years.

Even though I consider myself an Audi enthusiast, I was not aware of this model. Where I live in Tennessee, I had never seen one. Through my purchase process and by browsing the forum, I really believed they only sold them in in a few areas of the country… it appears to be New England, Detroit, Houston, and West Coast (I know how generalizing I am being).

So I started reading the forum and searching. I really came close to buying a Grey car, and drove a couple of black ones. But when I saw the Sprint Pearl Blue, I was in love.

So I flew to New York, took a bus out to the Hamptons, and drove it the 1000 miles home.

So far I have:

  • Replaced a tire
  • Turned off the tire monitoring system for now.

To be done:

  • Intake off now, carbon clean in process.
  • Broke 5 of the injectors pulling for cleaning, bought a new set to go in on reassembly.
  • Intake spacers here for install.
  • New coils/plugs.
  • New breather and drain tube.
  • New upper control arms.
  • Paint correction, one headlight to buff.
  • A tune? APR or JDM?
  • Something with the exhaust? Not totally sold on this.
  • RS6 Grill maybe.

Otherwise, love the car. Like the combination of practicality, comfort, torquey feel, sound, stealthy looks.

Welcome! That blue is my favorite color.

Welcome, that blue is a very sexy color! So I’d definitely go with the JHM tune and JHM exhaust (when you’re willing). I’ve owned my S6 for a little over a year now and those two items make a HELL of a difference. With the exhaust, you truly bring out the V10 sound that you’re looking for (and it’s a big fuck you to all the Mustang GT and Camaro guys if they’re a nuisance like they are here in Houston). Then the JHM tune… my god. I’ll put the car in sport to discourage any Mercedes AMG sedans or BMWs from doing anything stupid. It’s incredible, and the high rev just sounds flat out MEAN. I’ll have to post some videos post “JHM’d” to show you a little bit what I’m talking about.

please do!

Hello All!

Bid on a one owner, dealer maintained, one accident, 73k, silver S6 with black leather.

Oddly, this car came to Manheim auto auction a few weeks ago, with a starting bid at 7K. It had a lean bank 1check engine light and ugly after market rims. I bid up to 8, as my friend who knew I was looking for a car saw it and suggested I jump. I was uneducated on the platform completely, but I did see the potential. It sold for 10k and I was bummed.

The car’s new buyer was a wholesale dealer who relisted the car with a starting bid of 5500, and no one bid on it. My buddy knows him well, and said he does not look over the cars mechanically or try anything. I was bummed again to have missed out on a deal, but my buddy said the wholesaler sold it to another wholesaler privately. This new whole saler listed the car at auction for $4900.

My buddy was ready to go with a bid, and he snagged it for me for $5000.00 on 8/23. I had only seen videos and photos of it until today.

I budgeted 3500 bucks for
new hitachi injectors,
spark plugs,
JHM IM spacer
JHM Intake manifold.

I purchased the 3D printed carbon cleaning port adapter to try my hand at a walnut blast carbon clean when I have all the parts prepared.

I test drove the car at the auction today and… holy shit it’s got balls. I have a stage 2, custom tuned mazdaspeed 3 now, and the S6 blows it away , even with this air leak.

The interior is clean, minus a crack in the passenger carbon fiber inlet, and passenger side Bose speaker grill. Otherwise very clean.

The exterior has a lot to be desired. Seems like both bumpers are roughed up underneath. Front led strip cover is cracked. Paint isn’t too bad, needs a good detailing.

I pay my buddy tomorrow, and he plans to clear the vacuum leak/ code and have PA state inspection done for me.

I’m so pumped. I should be driving it mid week this week.

We are all there to help you out on this.

The blast adaptor you can return its just a BMW adapter you can get from anywhere unless you didn’t pay much for it. But to be honest the best cleaning method is chemical. and I have cleaned dozens and dozens of these cars.

The JHM parts are smart. Get a ross tech vag com don’t skimp out that is a must. From there we can all help you though all of this. and anything you might need.

I bought the adapter off the audizine user Ford prefect, is it really not worth the money? Working on getting the Ross-tech off of someone on craigslist.
