Love this…great way to hear the different set-ups. I currently have piggies, a custom 2.25 cat back H-Pipe and 14851’s. Although it sounds awesome now, there’s no point in any 2.25 love here. As of tomorrow morning though, I’m ripping off the 2.25 and throwing on a custom 2.5 with X-pipe and I’m retaining the 14851’s. I’ll re-film it soon after that and let you know so you can add it in if you want.

After that it’s Trexturk DP’s. Can’t wait for that cause the 2nd link down in the custom section is exactly what I’ll have…sounds epic!!!

I’d go for a sticky thread with links to the must read stuff as we’ve had a lot of good threads on all sorts of subjects from light weight batteries to “what is that woo woo sound” and it’s only going to grow.

We could do one with tunes too…but I think that’s no longer necessary lol. Even AZ has that figured out. AZ doesn’t have ‘which tune’ threads anymore…they have ‘stop making fun of my friend for buying a non-jhm tune!’ threads.

Nope, I am OK with updating both this one and the one on the Zine as new exhausts/better videos come available. My birthday was this week, valentines, and half my office is out sick (including myself)… so I haven’t been able to update these 2 as I would like.

I’m kinda surprised no one has posted a clip of the Neuspeed exhaust. It’s a 2.75" system with an H-pipe IIRC. I’d be interested to see how it stacks up in flow to a 2.5 system with an X.

I have trextuk dp’s with Stasis exhaust that i’m either going to add a true X to, or just get a new system eventually. I like the sound of the Neuspeed but would want to hear it on a catless system. Here’s a clip of a random S4 from youtube with it.

^^^I’d sell the Stasis and buy a used Fast Intentions Res if I were in your situation.

  1. the used stasis will fetch good money, and a used FI is probably 900 bucks max or something. You’ll get into the best catback for the car for a minimal cash outlay.

  2. the Fast Intentions x-pipe is EXCELLENT…and the whole exhaust is just very well designed for power. This pic always blows me away. Look how perfectly smoothe and orderly the FI bends are on the right…vs. the zig-zag Milltek system. Never mind the 2.5" vs. 2.25" debate which is obvious…the sheer focus on flow and performance from FI wins the day. The Milltek (and others) all seem to be jagged sharp bends everywhere. So weird.

I remember reading somewhere, probably on here, how much the sharp bends effect the flow of the exhaust. Laid out like that you can really see how much better the FI should flow. The stasis (and others) aren’t bad until you get to the mufflers where there are two basically 90 degree bends. I’ll be searching the classifieds probably in the spring. Looking for a B7 system tho.

yeah a sharper bend is going to increase the effective pipe length significantly, its not just angle of the bend but also the radius of the bends

I’m waiting on some more vids from M/R to decide if I’m going to go catless or not. His 12" res should give me a good idea of whether or not its DDable.

i just thought it was funny as hell to see you on the porch when we pulled up since we arrived un-announced. My wife was saying “oh they must be on their way out somewhere…”

Only way i could sneak up somewhere would be to have the car turned off in neutral and push!
