$3 for me. Weird.
I’ve been wanting to do this for a while. Fortunately my car is black so there are several options - I chose the cheapest one first. I’m going to try a $5.86 film I bought from eBay. If that doesn’t work, plan B is to buy a rattle can of tint spray. If all else fails, paintscratch.com as others have noted previously.
The way I see it you go body colour or nothing. I don’t get the smoke or the black ones. You still end up with an awkwardly contrasting little rectangle.
Does anyone know if the rear reflectors are the same size as the front?
Meh, to each his own I guess. I already have smoked headlights and taillights andy windows are tinted so I want to avoid inching closer to a “murdered” car by getting full body coloured reflectors. I’d be happy with muted reflectors but if the film doesn’t work then I’ll look for alternatives. I’ve also got tinted turn signal housings on the way so it’s a bit of a theme that’s developing…
@Datadatum they look slightly different when comparing front to back.
I lined up my oem fronts to the rears and they are slightly different.
Thanks guys.
Damn…S4 front side markers are definitely different than RS4 ones. Oh well. If I want to do this I’ll have to pop mine off and paint them myself.
Speaking of which, I pried a little on my front sidemarker and it barely moved. The rear one is more recessed and is almost like you need to unclip something from the back of the bumper. So, who has instructions on how to best remove these suckers without doing any cosmetic damage?

Refer to my post # 7, you need to remove them from behind. You access them by removing the two screws using a torx-25 on the fender lining.
RS4 front side markers are bolted in. You have to take off the front bumper to remove them. The rears are easy to pop off. You just reach behind the fender with one hand and you’ll figure it out. I did mine when I clear cornered.
When I did mine, I used part of the DIY from audiworld that Vijay posted. I removed my reflectors though, rather than taping the car. Paint and clear coat was purchased from Audi dealer in spray can format.
Here is that posting:
…and a couple closer shots of the job.
