Passenger Side Marker Light Popped Out

Just noticed it today after getting the car back from the dealer. Anybody know any tricks to get this back in the bumper, or am I taking the bumper off this weekend?

Thanks in advance

Both of mine have done the same…you can get some access via behind the fender liner but it will hurt…looks like your light support bracket has come unglued from the backside of the bumper as mine did. The best way is to pull the front bumper off and reglue the lens holder brackets back to the bumper via epoxy…might as well do both sides

Oh man. That’s a mess. You can get to it without removing too much stuff but it might make sense to take it all apart and see why it came out like that. I don’t think that’s a common thing.

How it popped out is uncommon, but that bulb connection can get loose if not secured especially over big bumps at speed overtime. Take it apart and make sure everything is tight under there.

Thanks for the info folks. I didn’t get any time this weekend to attempt anything, but I will definitely take the bumper off this weekend, take a look at it, and see if I can epoxy that back on. I’ll check those bulb connections too.

Thanks for the help y’all. Fairly easy to slide the bumper off. Got some epoxy and popped that bad boy back in. Lookin good again 8)

Good job!

What exactly happened to have it pop out like that. Did you ever find the route cause.

Well, as you may recall, this baby was at the Audi Dealership getting the IM replaced under warranty. I did not notice it when I picked it up. I noticed it the next morning so I have no proof that it was the dealership, and with how easy it was to fix, I didn’t even bother trying to get them to do anything about it.

I have two theories.

A) They wash each car (Even though I asked them not to…) after service and for some reason this wash just happened to be the end of the original Epoxy’s life.

or

B) Given the height that that light is at and the nature of the work to get the IM replaced, maybe a tech’s knee had weight on it leaning over the engine one time and popped it in and was never noticed.

Those are my two working theories.

Not sure. Cleaned the old Epoxy off and mixed some new Epoxy and its back on there so that’s what matters I suppose.
