PCV messed up

Whats up guys. Just gotta question about the pcv system.
I recently changed out my pcv valve cause i just wanted a new one and after hearing about how the pcv’s on these cars suck, i changed it
So i put it on and after a couple days, im at a stop light and i see a cloud of smoke. Im thinking WTF.
Driving and getting on it a little would cause smoke.
I never get smoke on start up or anything like that. So it struck me as odd

It never smoked like this with the old pcv. So I swap to the old pcv and its all better now. No smoke and getting on it, i dont see a cloud of smoke behind me.

So my question is, can i just cancel the pcv valve and run a catch can or something?

This is actually quite common unfortunately, you can also see this happening on the RS4’s and there PCV system.

If you get the pluming right Ive found that the motors like to breath. Just be careful as if you don’t plum it right you can get a lean code and running car.

Did you get the OEM PCV or one of those cheap $50-70 knock-offs

I got the OEM.

I dont really wanna just throw it on there. Im sure theres a certain way of running the hoses and stuff like that

Ive seen a lot of the knock off ones be bad out of the box. Looks like trexturk has a OEM one that also seems to be having some sort of issue. Thats odd. I wonder how many people have had that same issue.
