PES 2.3 Whipple S/C released

I guess the 8 months of R/D was good enough to release a kit with no baseline dyno or 1/4 times.
Tony convinced him to buy a Milltek exhaust cracked me up. I don’t think the owner has a clue of what’s going on. Why replace your stock exhaust for another that has the OE specs especially when running a S/C?

Edit: I posted in the wrong section and the. Saw a thread about this topic in the RS5 section…My fault.

We can never have enough threads warning of pes fail :stuck_out_tongue:

Poor RS5. RIP

Gotta love how it’s the same speech every time. Usually goes something like this: “I know they have a bad history but this time it’s going to be different. I have a ton of experience modding cars so you guys don’t know what you’re talking about. H8rs watch and see”…4 months later: for sale.

Poor rs5 indeed :frowning: mighty in stock form, maybe they’ll make it slower

you noticed that as well…

Well if PES doesn’t tune it then the hardware is pretty stout. Near-TVS efficiency. But those IC cores look tiny.

screw blowers are more efficient than TVS compressors.

No they aren’t. Every TVS out there make more power than the same displacement twin screw at the same boost level. Especially compared to a Kenne Bell

yes and no. The TVS are good but they are production cheap. All the TVS units have proper cooling when tested… most are just units on already OEM cars. the few tests I have seen show the Whipple being a better choise… I think if you go cooling for cooling boost of boost the whipple is better on heat… The kenne bell… that really shines at bigger boost levels and isn’t bad but has much bigger efffeciency in the bigger boost range…

Both the TVS and the whipped both flow about 1400cfm but the TVS always makes more power because of its efficency. Guys are dropping their 2.3 whipples for TVS and seeing ~20 degree lower charge temps. At lower boost levels, like 18-20 it’s about dead even but pushing both, the whipple just gets too hot.

I have never ever seen a KB make more power than its closest whipple relative. They might as well be a heat gun at high boost levels. KB is even offering liquid cooling to combat their own issues. A KB ran hard needs constant rebuilding from KB to keep it going. Sure they sound nice and the billet case is cool, but they’re just a fad.

Lysholm style blowers are hardly a “fad”.
it’s great you’re super into your terminator cobra (i’ve had a Procharged mustang (@23+psi) for 22 years), but there’s a much bigger world out there than just 4.6 DOHC fords; check it out if you’re inclined to learn.
look at how (why, really) the nhra determines allowable blower choices by class, for example.
fwiw, i’m not prejudiced - i’m a dealer for KB, magnuson, ati, vortech/paxton, whipple, BDS, TBS, etc and have been building forced induction combos for 3+ decades.
just because MM&FF prints something don’t make it true, son…just like forum rantings aren’t.
i have no intent of starting (or continuing) an online fight; just the facts.
have a good day fellas.

When did I say Lysohlm blowers are a fad? I said the EXACT opposite. Lysohlm = Whipple.

Aside from people who do nothing but read Kenne Bell tech articles, there is not a single person that would make the logical decision to run a KB over a whipple. There is just no reason to. They have tons of documented failures, known bearing issues, they run hot, blow hot air, and if (when) something goes wrong, you’re paying KB at least 1/3 the price of the blower itself to get it fixed or serviced, and you’re dealing with their horrid customer service.

What’s your argument in saying that there is a much bigger world out there than DOHC fords? And since when are forums not a good place to get info? My tuner is a pretty well known turner that I’m sure you know; Bob Kurgan. He doesn’t like Kenne Bell for the same reason. Of course he prefers centris, who doesn’t?

I would make the argument. I love the KB and It seems to be a choice thing. There are lots of guys that hate whipple and there are those that don’t like KB. Depends on who you ask. I have seen a KB 2.3 out swing a whipple 2.3 same boost same car same mods same cooling same tune. I think it is dependent on boost. The KB units have gotten a big boost in the last few years. So depends on what generation you look at. If you ask me. The newer KB units are the best out there. But most people hate jim bell. So in my opinion his head units don’t get much of a shot.

TVS vs whipple. TVS now is much better. A few years ago. the M series Eatons were not as good as the Whipple back then. Now the TVS is better then the whipple design. So PES is at an disadvantage again… Sad they always seem to be well behind in the pack.

I agree tho. C-fuge FTW .All day

Ok then put that whipple in the same category as the JHM blower at 100%…different story all together…sorry guys I hate to be so one sided on an issue but JHM doesn’t even leave room for competition in ANYthing they design/make…they are the only legit shop in the game that tests their own products on their own cars for a very modest prolonged period of time…speaks volumes guys

I found this interesting…

I never heard of McChip before…

That looks like the PES blower.

20,000 Euros for the base model. Picks up 100 hp at the crank. That’s retardedly expensive.

The JHM and other RS4 kits are well over that, for half the price.

Maybe the throw in a free 20 piece McNuggets with the kit.

Or maybe a free MC hammer CD.

I love mcnuggets

They’re like $10 for 20 here…but only $5 in the US. That’s nuts.
