Even the dyno he posted is fucking pathetic for a blower that sized. Whole thread is full of ignorance too. I love the comments on how a bigger exhaust only helps on turbo cars. Reminds me of that song I’m Different by 2 Chaaaaiinnnzzz
Sorry for the confusion. I meant the 8 months of R&D PES used to put out a kit seemed like they totally rushed it compared to how long you guys have been testing the TVS 1740. So what I meant was how long have you been testing the TVS1740?
I’m not really sure what their development schedule is like or how it compares to ours. It appears they aren’t using their own in house vehicles at all. Also, I’m guessing it’s an off the shelf unit attached to a quickly cut billet piece. There are so many things that change along the way we couldn’t do that with a customer’s RS5, but we have used our close dealers cars in the past. We also went fully integrated cast unit to get access to the 1740.
It was installed around February. Development on the design and such started much earlier. By our grand am Mid Ohio (forget when that is, I’ll look later) race in 2012 I was already teasing design and such, but I couldn’t go into details on the TVS1740 as eaton wasn’t ready to allow us to release that information.
That doesn’t mean every moment of time since it was installed was spent on development. I don’t want to misrepresent the schedule that way. Quite a bit has revolved around design changes we felt would make the kit easier to install, look better, be more reliable and perform better. It’s a long process, especially with how many projects we are working on at the moment, but we have the manpower to do it. Bottom line, it’s not rushed. When it’s ready, it will be ready.
[QUOTE=marzz;9258401]the car is making almost +200hp at the wheels at the moment, we stop here for know.
the top cover is new, the paint job is not finished yet (little twist to match the theme)
Also, new custom made pulley is coming soon …

For some reason I’m quite skeptical… I mean, PES has such a great track record with Audi V8s…? Different setup than the past 4.2s but I still don’t see it making +200 whp…
the car dyno’d like shit before. It was making stock power levels even though it had full catless exhaust with headers. Maybe something was wrong that got fixed when they tore it apart and installed a supercharger. I’m betting vacuum line.
dynos mean SWEET FUCK ALL in the real world. Especially with PES. Anyone who sells you a kit based on a dyno number hasn’t a fucking clue what they’re doing. APR gives you quarter mile runs in all configurations to prove their dyno numbers. JHM? They won’t even show you a dyno because it just lends credibility to a bullshit mean nothing measurement that can be easily doctored. They show performance only.
It’s P E fucking S. We can’t trust anything they say.
If the car goes and rattles off a 10.70 on 93 octane fuel I still won’t really care. It’s PES. I will be too busy watching the video to see if a rod flies through the side of the block or if the car dies.
p.s. this guy MARZZ promised all kinds of performance testing AGES AGO. He was promising to hit the strip when stock. Then when he got his $10,000 exhaust (you read that right), He was promising pbox data. Nothing was shared. Best case scenario is that they never bothered. More likely? They tested the car and realised the exhaust didn’t do fuck all, and they didn’t want to post the shitty numbers. He still hasn’t gone to the strip.
In fact, we have been waiting so long since he started promising performance data that Audi has redesigned the RS5 lol. APR even ordered one of the newly redesigned ones, it was built in Neckarsulm, and shipped from Germany to MFN Alabama…then they developed a tune, put it on the car, and took THAT CAR to the dragstrip. Yes that long!
Amazing how much money this guy is willing to blow with a company that has a history of releasing shit products that are abandoned as soon as the “shortfalls” (aka massive failures) start to pile up. Then again, as you said, Saki, he spent $10,000 on an exhaust that he replaced within months.
Odd that it supposedly is making an additional 200hp yet he is still going to wait for a new, “custom” pulley. I’d be pretty fucking pumped if my RS5 picked up 200 whp. You know, I’d probably make some acceleration videos, go to the track, post some pbox data, etc. Instead, we have him posting pictures of the car on a dyno with that hideous manifold cover.
Actually, going back through that thread, I may have been wrong. I believe he chopped up the cat-back portion a couple times to pass some emissions noise requirements but the rest may still be in place. I could have sworn that he replaced the system with an OTS setup. May have been a different poster.
It’s a shame he spent all that money on the PES system. Even if it does perform flawlessly, he still gave money to that garbage company. I wonder what he will do when the APR RS5 system comes out and posts 10’s on pump.
Has anyone even really seen many RS5 dynos, stock or modified? I haven’t seen many but they typically aren’t impressive. I also doubt the exhaust / intake mods really made much of a difference.
that’s the thing, the PES guys tend not to be so sharp.
They often don’t know any better lol.
I once pressed the Tony guy at PES (the boss) for proof of performance on the RS4 supercharger kit (Eaton M90). He posted a video of a PES RS4 going 12.6 @ 110. He thought that was impressive enough. Kind of staggering really. Worse still? The minions who were drooling over a PES kit kept applauding that result . Made me not want to post on other forums. There are too many people and you can’t help them all.
LOL! Saki that is funny… 12.6 @ 110 and he thought that was good… .15 faster than your stock NA time… wow just wow… Probably needed a driver mod but the 110 trap is weak sauce still…
IMO if the tune on the car is good, there is no reason the car shouldn’t run a decent time(assuming decent conditions)… No clue on how mcnuggets tunes though so it may not be so good…
