Pikes Peak race car PIC

Well, it’s another 605 e85 stock block car… this one done at high altitude, dialed in at 5k feet and then tweaked for 14k feet.
We qualified 8th today in a 23 car field… I’m pretty stoked for the race this weekend.

That is awesome well done…and good luck with the event. I hole both car and driver make it to the top safely.

nice… the pes sticker made me cringe until I saw the words after it

Lol same here

Hey I think 034 is racing too

Lol about the pes sticker… yeah 034 is racing as well… they qualified 7th.

In the same class as this car??

Yes they are both in time attack.

So this narrowbody stock block tial 605 car is faster in the qualifiers than 034’s widebody 850hp time attack car? And 034’s facebook said they qualified 2nd, is there more than one qualifier?

If I read the listing right the 034 car was 2nd in class and 7th overall; what overall means I don’t know. The JFonz car was 8th in class and 16th overall.

this sounds right, i was confused as i only got text updates and read somewhere else about 034.

Nice work Josh, you really are branching out, good on you

Thanks guys!
I checked the actual times and during qualifying
The j-fonz/ peak eurosport s4 ran a time of
4:52.6
52.9 seconds off the leader
Standing 16th overall 8th in class

the 034 time attack a4 ran
4:22.7 23 seconds off the leader
standing 7th overall 2nd in class
fastest time so far was 3:59.7

Very nice Josh congrats on place you got.

Regards

Well we caught a bad break with the weather and Chris Sarian (our tamed racing driver) managed to get the car up the mountain through rain, sleet, and hail in 12:53 on street tires.

I’m bummed about the weather but very happy with the performance ;D
Earlier in the day a new course record was set 9:46

Good stuff, glad they had a clean run.

So that’s a paved course?

Pretty incredible that the Audi S1 back in the day was running up that course in about 10 minutes, on gravel lol.

I’m glad we made it to the top in one piece. There were a few really nasty wrecks before our run, most notably the evo that rolled off the side of the mountain and flipped about 10 times and landed about a thousand feet off the track.

I’m really suprised that the times weren’t much faster with a full paved course… the record was only broken by like 6 seconds or something.
Next year we will be looking for a much better finish and we will be better prepared for the weather.

Looks like the Audi S1 “paved” the way for Pikes Peak champions. I like how Michèle associates racing with ballet.

Yea i saw a video of that evo rolling down the side of the mountain and Dallenbach’s car that cut down five trees before coming to a stop after a 125mph crash…just insane that you can survive something like that!
