Possibility to make 500whp without having to do bottom end. b6/b7 s4

It’s good to practice and get into the 12’s first. You can totally do that with the Jhm tune full 2.5 exhaust the jhm LW clutch and intake manifold.

And as for more dyno figure and keep in mind this isn’t always the same due to different dynos giving different numbers

Jason at jhm got 440 axel got 421 and a guy in Mexico got 422whp

Great Lakes Dragaway is in Kenosha, Wisconsin (little over an hour north of Chicago). That’s the one I’ve always gone to. Other Chicago options are Route 66 Raceway and Byron Dragway.

yeah cabracco was a killer driver. had some tricks once the car it was all modded too

Can one of you OG drag racers give some tips on making a good run with the B6 S4? I am wrapping up the last of my parts install and going to give it a go in two weeks at a nearby track.

I have only ever had experience with my old 24v GTI lol

First thread…

Additionally, for the B6/7 S4, I think launching around 3k RPMs is preferred.

Don’t waste your time if the weather is shit, just hold off until fall. If you do decide to go to get some seat time, don’t be discouraged by shitty results due to weather or crap DA.

and refer to the link Axel posted.

Thanks Gents! (its a place to start)

i used to launch at around 3200 RPM wiht the B67. JHM Launch Assist was far superior to sakimano.

Is there launch assist for B6 manuals ?

Thank you for the advice. I am going to PEI (since you are canadian )

yes, the JHM tune actually comes with launch assist already installed. What’s your mod list?

Good advice from the experts. Take time and practice on a back road getting the feel for launching. And then get practice on shifting in the upper rpm range. Lots of times if your not really used to shifting in the upper rpm range it can effect you the first few times at the track.

You can watch videos of some guys that just added mods where they took videos and they were totally short shifting because they weren’t used to making big power and shifting in the upper rpm ramge

That GIF or whatever you want to call it of cabracco is at no limits raceway in Morrocco Indiana, it’s like 650ft above sea level.

First off I read the thread on drag racing and it was awesome! It answered a lot of my questions

What rpm should I be shifting at ? I noticed on a JHM post they mentioned 6000, but that seems early doesn’t it?

As for my mod list I just got the car back together the other night, it is a B6 manual and I have the primary bolt on power adders from everyones fav tuning shop (without making a massive list of everything) I have the JHM intake manifold, 2.5" trexturk down pipes, 2.5"magna flow cat back, JHM light weight crank pulley, I also have the JHM 91 octane tune, but I have to install that shortly I just have been having computer issues, I normally use Mac, and windows 8 is a pile of dog shit.

Nasty and I have a lot in common I guess ;D

Oh yes we do lol. Looking good

I saw your JHM mani on Instagram… it looked so good I ended up getting mine powder coated Gloss red hahaha (I’m sorry)

NA S4s should shift around 6500 rpms.

Also you need Windows XP or Windows 7 to use the JHM flashing server.

When I go to the strip I TRY to wind out 1st gear to 6800-6900 then shift at 6500 for the rest of the changes. That got me my best trap speed of 106. Most of the time I end up screwing up and short shifting 1st a little though

You can use a Windows 8 machine, you just need to use a different VPN client. If you, or anyone for that matter, needs help setting it up, let me know and I’ll do my best to help.

I used windows 8 to flash mine. the instructions are just a bit different to install the vpn client.
