Possible RS4 purchase - PPI on high mileage car

That’sa bad price… IIf it’s an 07

Borderline for an 08

Hey 65, if your talking to a salesman…don’t waste your time. Call the sales manager and tell him your offer…if he doesn’t take a for sure deal then they don’t deserve your business. Be patient, get a deal and a car you want.

My last 2 vehicle purchases basically dealt with idiot salesman that were feeding me BS until I spoke to their manager.

Yea man I completely agree. I was talking to a saleman at first who was feeding me shit. They say some of the dumbest shit. His sales manager got involved once I started asking for service CC, ecu updates, DRC recalls etc. “Its all on the carfax”, “CC whats that? I have never heard of any cars ever needing that” Even went so far as to tell me they called audi directly who said their was never any TSB/recalls for DRC suspension and it should be fine. He did finally get the dealer on the phone where the service was done and what do you know?! All my concerns were real and had thankfully been addressed. F’in morons. Then he proceeded to tell me the 4K in parts and labor to replace the brakes and fix an oil cooler leak that he wasn’t anticipating left him no room to move. I am going to bring my car back to see what they will give me on trade, estimated about 22-23K which is more then I expected to be honest. Id have to sell me car for 25K private to make of the tax savings and Im not sure that would happen.

I was seriously considering offering you close to that a few weeks ago, until I decided to hold off on an S4 purchase for now. So you never know, the right buyer is probably out there, especially considering how nicely setup your car is.

Agreed that the RS4 prices are too high. If it was an 08 Sprint Ti package, then I think the price would be fair. If you’re considering non-local cars, there are actually a decent number of options for RS4s for sale.

Good to hear! I haven’t been looking for to to long (Looked for a year on the S4) but it is difficult to find an RS4 that is as clean as my S4. That being said these two do seem to be extra clean. There are a good number of RS4’s with fairly low mileage out there and I am in no rush, just hard to gain a good concept of what the cars are actually selling for compared to asking prices.

Apparently it wasn’t my lucky weekend. Went to pick up the car for inspection on Saturday morning and someone had hit it overnight. Not terrible, but it was probably a swiping impact as they tried to turn around or something. Here’s some pics of the damage.

Not sure what I’m going to do now… I might still buy it and have it fixed or I might pass. Waiting on a quote from a local body shop to see how much it will cost to repair before I make any decisions.

Don’t second guess a sign from God. Pass.

Agreed that it’s poor timing, but I’m not exactly a religious person…

^i was expecting a awful picture. Really doesn’t look bad. As long as there are no cracks or ripples in the bumper I’d just improve the pricing some and get it repainted.

Yea, it doesn’t look that bad but we’re talking about RS4 parts. I bet the bumper cover is probably about a grand alone, a couple hundred for the trim piece, and then all the paint work. Probably just shy of $3k and that’s assuming the bumper supports weren’t damaged either.

The little stuff can be just as expencive as the big stuff… your right to think twice…can I ask what they wanted for the car…

I’d rather not disclose that at this point. The deal is still ongoing.

Because of all the uncertainty, both the seller and I decided it would be best to have him fix the car through his insurance. He did offer me a significant chunk off of the original price to buy it as-is, but I just couldn’t do it without knowing exactly what had been damaged. So, the car is going in for repairs at a very reputable shop and he’s hoping to get some of the other paint issues fixed at the same time. Assuming it all goes well, I may still buy the car once the repairs are completed in a few weeks.

Unfortunately, this deal died early this week. After getting the car back from the body shop, the seller decided he needed to keep it to use as a business car…ughhh, the search continues. If anyone knows of an RS4 owners that are interested in selling, but not officially on the market yet, let me know!

retsujou’s car is for sale. Crazy rare colour. Cherry Black Pearl Effect. Looks mostly black. Has the exclusive interior as well. Ti package. Loaded.

Saw that this morning. Two problems: It’s in Canada and I’m in the US. I can’t stand Audi’s red interiors. Make me want to vomit.

The exterior of that car is stunning though.

you could easily trade that red and black interior out to a Chicago Bulls fan

truthfully lots of people love it. I don’t mind it on the boring colour cars like grey or avus. But if I bought a car with it, I’d probably orchestrate a swap. To me the red clashes aggressively with the purple.

p.s. can’t you guys import cars relatively easily from Canada? We can import from there

One popes up on autotrader yesterday. 120k miles for $21k, there’s a super clean looking avus silver in Arizona with 100k for 29k. There’s a bunch out there right now just hard to find a clean well maintained one.

Thanks. Would you mind sending me a link for these? I can’t seem to find them when I search.

I posted a thread about the high mileage one on AZ, I’m on my phone or I’d throw them up for you
