So I’ve reset the timing on Bank 2, and run compression. I am getting 165-180 across that bank, (it’s about 155 across the board on bank 2). Not sure why the discrepancy. The left side and right side still appear to be slightly out from each other, ie i have to rock the crank a bit to get the cam lock on bank 2 after locking bank 1. I would think that this type of discrepancy is normal though, please let me know what you think!
A picture out the engine, and a picture of the cam bar on the machined side. I made them out of 0.25" X 1.5" flat bar, machined down to 0.180, and it’s an extremely snug fit.

Just put it all back together. I think it is solved, thanks for the help guys.
Now on to the other codes, as usual :P.
Woot! Glad to hear it!
Was it timing related? Or did you spot another issue?
All Timing related. Moral of the story, don’t be an idiot and not do the final alignment check as stated in the manual. Some people have to learn the hard way (me). It was on the other hand a good learning experience for diagnosing/troubleshooting. All is well that ends well?
you can probably do this in your sleep now. Should start a side business lol
I think the drivetrain/engine bay design layout is imprinted in my mind permanently…
Glad to hear man, don’t learn hard on Audis…
Hope the suggestions were helpful. Always great to see the issues solved, without spending big money.
