Pretty ballsy comment by this dude from TAG Motorsports...

Cleaner and no salt… worse fishing though.

salt is good for the skin!!! and fresh water smells like ass. i have a fresh water and salt water tank and ask me which one always smells worse!!!

Yeah, that’s what I was picking up on and the wife really doesn’t do well with cooler climate; the time frame is more likely during the summer.

Will do. That hotel looks like a nice stay.

although i will say… your lakes don’t compare to real oceans… lol

I’ll take the city, bars, sports, architecture, etc. – but leave the crime, shitty education, and uber corrupt politicians.

“Chicago style politics” is a colloquial expression around dinner tables nationwide.

Not to mention the city’s nickname…it’s not derived from the weather blowing in off of lake michigan

The exemplar of Chicagoland politics: destruction of Meigs Field Airport

http://www.suntimes.com/news/cityhall/19147426-418/10-years-later-the-nighttime-raid-that-destroyed-meigs-field.html

I actually think the article overstates the city’s reaction to the Meigs Field scandal. People here are generally just used to the way the city operates. Hell, Mayor Daley even won another term after all this went down. Pretty crazy.

<3 Chicago so much.

Last time I was there was just before they attempted to ban Foie Gras, there were some pretty amazing menu’s being created by chefs to “celebrate” the city council’s stupidity ;D

The vibe is awesome, the restaurants are amazing, have to say its cheap as well, the people are friendly etc etc etc. It’s like NYC but with the charm of a small town. Ugh I need to go back soon!

I lived in Chitown for 12 years, and loved it as well. Really a spectacular city. I miss the culture, dining, and MidWestern ethos.

Just received a memo that Transformers 4 is filming tomorrow very close to my office. I’ll try to snap a few pics if I can get a good shot. Looks like they’ll be filming here for the rest of the week.

BTW this is now the official Chicago thread ;D
