Q5 Accessories (Hitch, Bike rack, Roofbox)

Hey guys, this section has been a little quiet lately or is always quiet…understandable considering most people that own VW/Audi SUVs probably aren’t forum members, but like any car I own, I enjoy researching anything and everything before purchasing it. I’d like to share some items I’ve added to my wife’s Q5 recently so that if anyone is looking to buy a Q5 in the near future, currently owns one (like Cory), or has a friend with one that is discussing accessories hopefully you can use this information.

So recently my wife and I decided to get a set of bikes, there are a million trails around here and our son is getting old enough to really start enjoying the outdoors with us. This posed a problem since I recently sold my truck, so it was time to look for a hitch and bike rack for the Q5.

Interesting topic…
BTW, I like the bumper cover.

  • OEM hitch with some “extra” work done
  • Tekonsha Prodigy P3 brake controller

  • THULE apex swing 4

-OEM load bars
-Thule Atlantis cargo box (1600XT or 1800XT…can’t remember)

(2) Yakima jaylow’s

I also had one of these, but recently sold it.
StowAway cargo box

I have another significant accessory for the rear of our Q5 but I would like to keep it off the forums

New wheels today. The tire size give me some extra load index and XL rating and the offset and size give it a wider stance.
