Quick RS5 track videos from Quattrofest 2014 @ Portland International Raceway

No in car GoPro footage (didn’t bother)

Here’s just how squeaky my brakes are (hearing warning):

Haha! Brake pads are Carbotech XP24 in the front and XP12 in the rear.

And a few flyby videos:
I love the growl (I need an exhaust still, I know):

Car corners a lot better with the coilovers! Lots of grip!

I didn’t take a lot of pics but here’s a few:

I was at the gas station a lot lol. I went through a tank of gas doing 70 miles on the race track. It has two long WOT parts.

what’s it going to take to get a couple of RS5s to the dragstrip in cold weather? I really want to see one run something excellent wiht some light parts and exhaust.

I’ll see if any others wants to go. The problem with us in the Pacific North Wet is that when it starts getting cold, it also starts raining… :-\

Cool pics/vids. Is the orange RS5 owner on the forums?

I don’t believe so.

It was cool driving down to Portland with two RS5s for a change. Lots of people were taking pics of the cars while we were driving down.

Plus seeing the Solar Orange RS5 in my rear view mirror against the Sepang Blue of my pop up spoiler made me think of a bag of cheetos puffs. LOL!

Our tracks close start of October, and we had a really warm September. I tried to make it out there but the temps and DA were disastrous.

Spring time I am hoping to do some runs. I only have a stock baseline so far, its pathetic.

I am trying to get my buddy to go but he has a hard time waking up early on a Sunday. He has both a RS5 and a R8 V10 S-tronic so I want to see both run down the track.

I even offered to drive his cars for him but he wasn’t so into that idea. ::slight_smile: :stuck_out_tongue:

Awesome sir. Love the pics. 70 miles a tank? Wow! I believe there are two solar orange RS5s in your area, I have seen some pics on AZ.

If I had a track near me I’d be down to try it out, closest track is a few hours away and closed now I believe.

Good stuff Psykhotik! Looks like you had a blast

I’d like to go (a lot of mods would like to check times), but what is the point at 4500 ft altitude :-\

pretty much no point other than having fun, and benchmarking yourself against other guys that are at the track same day

I know what you mean though.

Fortunately we aren’t short on data for the 1320 kit, so I can pretty comfortably say you’d be high 11s @ 116-117 if you took it at sea level to a dragstrip. It works.

A few more pics that I did not take… lol…

Credit goes to the photographer (obviously). Some great pics!

what is H&R RSS+

?

The car looks and sounds INSANE!
Love it. Ride height seems spot on too. Not too dumped where it begins to compromise your roll center.
What differences are you finding since the install of the RSS?

Much better turn-in response I bet with the significantly firmer front rates. How is it with trailing throttle rotation? Still not much? Just curious! I’m constantly debating if I want to go with an RS5 suspension (OE) setup or just go for a coilover.

http://www.hrsprings.com/products/coil-overs/

It’s a coilover that H&R makes.

Thanks! Much better turn in and a lot more grip overall. On throttle exits from corners are much more confident. Throttle steering (when I had a dry session) is great with this setup.

I’m happy with the ride height. It’s 1.25 inches lower than stock. I didn’t want it ‘slammed’. I tend to gravitate to “function” over form (well as long as form doesn’t look like ass LOL).

niiiiice.
How is ride quality on them compared with stock?

Surprisingly, not bad. They are noticeably stiffer than stock. But there is no “bobble head” effect going through the pristine roads cough that we have here.

My track buddy was surprised when I took him around for a ride in the RS5 post coilovers. It’s not bad at all.

The lady friend didn’t notice much difference either (before/after).

But keep in mind that the RS5 rides pretty hard as-is. I could do another drive down to Monterrey, CA with no complaints.

Thanks. Putting them on my want list

BTW yoou have any in car videos from your last track day?
