I have a friend who went there 10 or so years ago for an 18 month contract (he was an IT guy). He stayed for 5 years, and came back with a house in his bank account. He said it was really weird.
Three classes of people.
Emirati - the wealthy entitled locals, who are all basically set for life
Expats with good jobs - people who are from Europe, North America etc who go there for work and make about 2x what they’d make elsewhere and pay no tax…however they don’t have the freedoms they would have at home. Want to go out for a drink? Sure. Just get a note from your employer, and make sure they say how many drinks you’re allowed. Weird stuff.
Labourers from south Asia - basically slave labour. Sri Lanka, Indonesia and the Phillipines are the favourite sources for these labourers who work for very little, live in shitholes bunking 20 men to a room, and send money home.

Nice but a little too “Audi commercial” like. I know he likes the car and he wants to rave about it but it started to sound like a commercial. Obviously, it was sponsored by Audi but he was a journalist nonetheless.
Still, great narrative, good footage, like the reference to Claude Lelouch’s Rendez-Vous short film and overall quite enjoyable. Would love to ride those “closed” roads in my S4
