a guy I work with got a personal plate of his original license plate on his first car
When your plates rust here they don’t give you a reprint… They give you new ones altogrther. He wanted to keep it the same so he got a personalized plate of his old school plate
I don’t think anything justifies keying a car. Just me, but I think keying a car is unforgivable.
As far as license plates go I wouldn’t put anything offensive on a plate and the registering agency usually tries to catch offensive plates before they are given to the individual. The brand-war plates are a bit over the top but it does make me chuckle sometimes. There are some good rivalries out there.
I tried to get HLK SMSH it was taken, than I tried HLK SM5H and no one had it but after 3 months of waiting they returned my money and rejected, all for the better though cause I don’t run plates.
A guy on SVTperformance had the license plate “LS1 THIS”…it got vandalized. And you’d better be packing something under the hood that can destroy ANYTHING you run into that you’re making fun of.
There was a older bright orange 911 turbo with the tag 360EATR that got put on bricks and keyed to hell. Then a guy at my bank had a E90 BMW 335xi with the tag AMG THIS until a random E class crashed into it at 30mph+ in the parking lot. I just would expect my car to be screwed if I got a tag like that.
There were a few cars that would show up at a large Sunday morning meet with different variations of:
0to60B4u
0260B4u
021001st
then there was the groups of guys who had variations of:
uTooslow
U2slw4me
cntcthme
trynkpup
etc
Each time they left the meeting spot at some point on the road one of them would get pulled over.
I don’t want the kind of attention that those plates can bring. I like the clever ones but I wouldn’t get one. Not even the business ones. Too easy for someone to either get offended some how or remember your plate and report you for something just because they don’t like the plate - isn’t worth it imo.
I like the 1L11L1L1 plates for the opposite of that effect^^
I always had a goal of shooting a particular golf score, and my plan was to get the initials of the course and the score on a plate if I ever did. Just something I would know what it meant. Anyway, once I shot the score, I realised it was gay and didn’t.
I really struggle to come up with a personalized plate that I would get.
similar to the 1s and Ls, I like the MNMMNM plates, looks like a barcode from a distance. Never something I’d do though, costs too much. Everyone in NH seems to have a custom plate though, I think its free.
The new plates fade out way too fast. My dad’s plate is a little over 20 years old and there isn’t a spec of rust on it, but the front plates on my old mazda faded out and started rusting in two years flat.
Luckily I didn’t care too much for it since if it were a vanity plate it would read along the lines of Blowjob 69.
I thought you were the master sleuth Mr. Saki? My only hint is that it has absolutely nothing to do with my car or Audi or any other car.
Although I wasn’t trying to hint anything about my plate. Just worries me to hear that it seems to be common knowledge that license plates can incite vandalism. It is something I was completely naive about.
