Hey, what rear pads do you guys use? The shop I usually go to seems to think my pads are wearing much faster than normal or faster than they should be. They’re almost gone after 3.5 months of use. I did go to the track one time though so that could be it.
What kind of pad wear life are you guys getting in the rear and on what pads?
The rears should last twice as long, what’s the wear like on the fronts? Also what pads and rotors are you using?
Fronts lasting twice as long? The fronts get used twice as much as the cars are front bias. The rears should last twice as long as the fronts.

I’m on OEM Textar pads front and rear. The shop thinks they went faster than they should’ve but I kinda think it’s on par considering how I’ve had a track day added into the life cycle. It’s been about 8-9k miles I think since last pad change on rear. I was thinking about getting Akebono this time around, but wanted to get other owners’ take beforehand. The textars have performed well on track overall, so no real stopping power complaints.
9k isn’t long enough. People would be changing pads every year if that was the case. The track event hurts them for sure. But 9k for a DD pads isn’t long at all.
I bought my s8 with 89k and didn’t change them till 115k. Roughly 2 years of DD.
