Rear brakes

Seeing what everyone recommends. There are akebono on Amazon for $54 that have good reviews.

I don’t think I need rotors but depending on price I mighty do them as well.

I’ve had the car for 35k miles and don’t know when the rotors were last changed.

akebono, EBC redstuff, Stoptech if available. They are all great pads.

When the rotors are cold aka haven’t been driven on in a while. Feel for a wear lip around the outside edge of the rotor. If you can feel a noticeable lip that is about the thickness of a quarter then you definitely need rotors. If there isn’t much of a lip then you are probably fine slapping pads. The rear rotors generally last a LONG time on Audis because most of the braking is up front. Keep in mind that you need a vagcom/scanner to retract the parking brake feature if you are going to do this repair yourself.

Have used akebono and stoptech with good success on daily vehicles. Low dust and perform well enough

Akebono are good especially at that price. I like Textar too, used by oem for many applications as well in the VAG world from what I recall.

Same, I think I have textar if I remember correctly.

I ordered some up. Well get it done this weekend. Looking to wrench on the car again after this winter

Textar/pagid are great options as they are the OEM for most Vag and bmw…but that dust doe! Akebono for the win, there pad technology is other worldly when its comes to stopping distance, low dust, and longevity…sorry i sell parts for a living and when you find a product that is truly worth every penny its hard not to spread the word.

another endorsement for Akebono for a daily, stoptech for light track use.

Does the Akebono Brake pads come with the break pad sensors? Or should it be purchased separately?

Rear pads don’t have sensors. The computer does it when you reset/ do the adaptation

Sorry about my previous post, I just realized this thread exists lol
