Rediculously cheep wheels

:o
Not even sure if this is legit, seems almost too good to be true?!

Under $400 for a complete set?! I’m not sure how long this sale’s supposed to last, how much stock they’ve got, but I do know this is about the cheapest way to get a set of winter wheels other than buying someone’s rashed&thrashed stockers.

Seems silly for me to buy wheels even before I’m done negotiating on an S6, but…

ECS is definitely a legit retailer, but I don’t know anything about those wheels or their quality. But rest assured that if you place an order from ECS, you well get the 4 wheels you ordered. I just don’t know if they’ll be any good or not.

These 18x9’s @ $549 are only 24lb each!

That’s a weight savings of like 15lbs per corner over the stock wheels. I wish I wasn’t broke or I’d give them a try. Doesn’t list the C6 under the fitment chart though.

stock is 19x9et30? et33 would put the rim face pushed out 3mm closer to the fender… Unless you’re low, I’m guessing they’d fit

Combine with the new rotors and that’s almost 30lbs a corner!! How much apparent HP is that worth?!

I’ve already got the rotors, part of the reason I’m broke ;D

They’ve got some 19x9.5’s that are listed as working with the C6, for roughly the same price, at 28lbs each. If you pick them up, let us know how it goes!

No idea what that works out to for AWHP gains, I’m definitely the wrong person to ask. Seems like 120lbs of rolling weight removed would be good for at least a few tenths of a second and MPH.

Liking those a lot, but S6 isn’t listed in the fitment list, so I suspect they might not clear calipers… Also I remember hating cleaning the basketweaves on the BMW. Hated. Love the look though.

Current car I just pulled the aftermarket wheels back off and went to stock for wintermode; it’s about a 15lb difference per corner as well and my god what a huge difference! I can’t honestly imagine NOT wanting to double that per corner!

Stock is 19X9 ET52. My summer wheels are 19X9.5 ET40, and would have no chance in not rubbing if lowered. I’ll try to snap a couple pictures if the rain stops.

Also, ET33 would pull the tire 3mm further in, and away from the fender, as opposed to an ET30.

As far as the quality of the Alzors, can’t say. But I’ve been exceptionally happy with my Miro wheels for the price. 19X9.5 with 275/35/19 Continental DW tires still weighed 20lbs per corner less than the stock rims with 265/35/19 Blizzaks.

I wish I could just put my current wheels on the S6 - 19x9.5et33 10x11.5et33 Work Emotion CR’s - bolt pattern is different though. Wife wanted them on her sportwagon! lol.

As for the quality; I don’t really plan to beat on this thing, but it IS a 4400lb car, so it probably should be a consideration. I’ve cracked more than a couple cheep repro wheels in my day. Thankfully I’ve had no full failures yet like I’ve seen posted.

Thanks for the correct specs Bansai!

Good info all around guys. Welcome compugeek

If you do pull the trigger let us know how the rims work out. I too have had a few sets of cheaper rims crack on me so I would be a little leary on such a heavy car.

But those rims with the JHM LW rotors would make a huge impact on the car.

Been lurking for about a month, and this has to be the most adult corner on any car enthusiast site I’ve been on… Justin - you in particular are one of the most patient I’ve read. LOL. My decision to go S6 instead of RS4 had a lot to do with the community. Holy crap are assclowns drawn to B4/5/6’s

I take heart that the engine and trans seem to be as close to bombproof as you could hope for! I haven’t pulled the trigger yet; still trying to get once for what I consider a fair price; I’ve already run across two shady deals so far.

Wheels/tires/brakes aren’t really even on the table for me atm - carbon and intake issues to address first thing apparently  But man are these cheep! A whole set for what I’m used to paying for a single?!

I’ll make an official welcome post once she’s in my driveway…

AR is a different kind of site and we are glad to have you. Boy are you right. The Assclowns are drawn to the B5 S4s it seems the most but there are a few good members but for the most part you really hit the nail on the head.

The V10 cars a complicated and that thankfully keeps the trolls at bay. There are so many nice real enthusists here and we would be glad to have you as another. Im still a hoodlum for now with my JHM modded B6 S4 but I too have looked at several S6 and a few S8 cars. I have worked on several S6 cars now and I have to say they are really solid. BUT if you dont do your maintentance the cars can quickly turn south quick and with the carbon and injector damage that can come from it. It is something that you clearly see needs to be taken seriously.

After all I’ve been through with about half a dozen BMW turbo, non turbo, i6, v12 and v10’s…I welcome a car that “only” needs attention to carbon. FCPEuro is a good source of quality parts, and anything I’d need to attend to on this car seems pretty well documented. Initially thought about a Merc S600 - another somewhat rare exclusive, but the sheer number of computers and electromechanical doodads made me wince. Only thing that was close so an S6 interest level was a Phaeton, but I couldn’t find one I wanted to spend my money on.

This generation of S6 just seems to check all the right boxes. Hell, I honestly don’t even care it it’s slower than it could be - even in a less than optimal state, it’s zero to arrested faster than I honestly need the temptation for. But really, I’m in it for that noise. Glorious, glorious noise. I’m sure if I find a car that manages to last a couple years I’ll end up with the full exhaust and all the goodies and upgrades that’ve been mentioned recently. Just means everytime something needs to be replaced, the car will just continue to get better…
