Repairing cam carrier to head oil leak into plug tubes

I will be pulling my engine for other external oil leaks, and one thing I was thinking of was to reseal the cam carrier to head interface. I know to do this the timing system and cam shafts have to come off.
Do I need any special tools for indexing the camshafts when reinstalling?
Is it just an aneorbic or thin RTV seal between the two surfaces?

You will need a timing chain tool set or your going to be in big trouble. So yes you need special tools.

I don’t know a ton on the seal but I do know that using the RTV that is used on the A4s B7 is the one to use. From all the understanding I have the RTV used on the V10s drys over time but the A4 sealent stays more like rubber even after many years.
