Replacement pads for ST40 calipers

Car is daily driven. Has never seen a road course but sees frequent spirited weekend foothill / mountain runs…

Have discussed the issues some have seen with stoptech bbk and am replacing rotors and pads. Got dba replacement rotors and now need pads. Top 3 options include hawk hps, performance friction or porterfield.

From what I gather the hawks will probably be the least dust but the performance friction and porterfields will yield a more dual purpose pad track / street. I am avoiding stoptech options all together.

Much like all season tires, the idea of street/track pads kind of turns me off. Not the best at anything. I might even consider going full street/comfort and get hawk ceramics. I actually have an unused race pad set that can always be swapped in if I’m so inclined to go to any road course events.

Any input or experiences in st40 pad replacements is appreciated.

I’m a big fan of Carbotech pads (ceramic).

I used the 1521 Bobcat street pads for daily driving and the RP2 endurance pad for track duty on my old ST-60.

Wheels stayed relatively clean (light colored dust) and had great bite/modulation.

I do know some people that track with a ‘street’ compound. It all depends on how you brake I suppose. I beat the brakes on the track (car squirms under full threshold braking).

Thanks man. Those were another option. I see them used quite a bit.

From what I’ve read, it seems hard to go wrong in choosing the hawk hps.
