Anybody done this or tried I’ve seen a few in Europe that have. I’d like to have the wifi and google maps in my car without having to buy the new car for it.
I was thinking about this earlier but wasn’t sure if it could be done. But I agree, it would be awesome to have wifi in the car and setup an Audi Connect account.
I looked into it but it seems like an awful lot of work. There is no kit you can just buy to make it work. So many variants based on your current setup and components you can get your hands on. If I could get all the parts I need for about 1000 euro I would do it
What I found interesting is that Audi Connect came out in 2011, however the 2011 Audi S6 doesn’t have it and, according to Edmund’s, nothing was changed from 2010 to 2011. It’s a shame and a little disappointing considering I’m looking at purchasing that year S6. 
I read a post where the a8 4h unit is plug in play with the current 3G system. The only thing you have to do is change the baud rate to 9600 and everything should work with the new system
