Revo st2+ logs

Hi guys, I’ve been a silent reader here for a while but first time to post.

The car is 2011 S5 Sportback (pre-facelift, but 3.0T unlike the early coupe S5s), mapped Revo Stage 2+ 91 octane (pulley, decat on stock exhaust and respective tune) incl. DSG tune a couple of weeks ago, now trying to figure out what my problem is as the car does not feel to have the claimed 470 bhp by all means.

Don’t have a dragstrip nearby but measured 100-200 with Racelogic and got 12.7 sec best which is a joke. I saw similar engine cars (incl. both A4s/S5s/A6 doing 100-200 in about 10 sec).

When trying to trace the issue with local Revo dealer the outcome (based on logs) was that the car runs fine (which is boosting ca. 1 bar, max air consumption ca. 1300 kg/h, no major ignition pull due to knock) but the IATs were somewhat high exceeding 65C already on the 4th gear if you start your pull on 2000 revs on 3rd and then just keep going and shifting at readline (which is 7000 on Revo DSG tune). I don’t have those logs unfortunately.

To adress the IATs I swapped the stock compressor cooler (front) to a new one (don’t want to go for an aftermarket cooling system at this stage) and bled the system properly to ensure everything is working as it should.

In the last days I finally managed to make some logs myself and here’s what I saw (this is 3rd gear 2000-7000 and then 4th gear from 5500 or so to almost 7000 as well):

There was no major knock / ignition pull. I made several logs and the picture is pretty consistent. Ambient temp was 25C. I’ll post the full log file when I figure how.

Would much appreciate the opinions on above, especially:

  1. My boost is only peaking 0,9 bar and then sharply dropping to 0,7-0,6 closer to redline while the specified value is peaking 1,2 bar and gradually declines to 1,0 on higher revs. Despite this fact the compressor flap is 23% opened all the time. Is there any logical explanation to that?
  2. Is my understanding correct that stage 2 3.0T (APR, GIAC etc) actually boost around 1.0 to redline?
  3. My IATs are still high reaching 65C aready by the end of 3rd gear pull. Does this look wrong (given stock cooling)? I saw some 3rd gear pull logs on here and elsewhere but still uncertain.

Forgot to reply to this thread, but saw it on AZ. Here is the response I posted there

[quote]Go look up Jran’s thread on how to log with vcds http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...rmance-Logging

It looks like your car is bleeding boost up top if the boost pressure is dropping to .6 bar. There are many reasons for why this could be happening. We’ve seen this with Revo’s newest logs, but need to see timing to fully understand what is going on. Revo seems to favor slight boost manipulation over changing spark timing like some other tuners do. I would confirm with logging the bypass valve RPF_V and try to plot things as a function of RPM if you can. It’s a little hard to read the figures with all the signals superimposed with different scales. Look into BoostEasy’s recommended site for uploading logs to, it allows easy visual manipulation.

Thanks for your feedback - I actually uploaded yesterday my last log to the site recommended by BoostEasy ( http://datazap.me/u/leman/log-1443123319?log=0&data=2-6-8-16 ). This includes the knock retard data and lambda readings which were not included on my chart above.

I didn’t yet manage to log the other parameters mentioned in AZ thread (ignition angle, RFP_AV etc.) but will do so shortly.
