So they’re focusing protection on exhaust gas temperature mostly? Interesting.
How about APR? What kind of EGT protection do they put in place?

Jeebus- 30-40’!!! I never saw the old Revo logs but that’s a shit-ton of timing for any engine. 4V cylinder heads should never see that kind of timing. Even the shitty 5.0 2V wedge heads I used to work on rarely saw more than 36’ and those things were designed some time late in the stone age, distributor and no knock sensor.
On the N54/N55 BMW engines we rarely even saw 12’. Usually a little under 10’ but for whatever reason those engines just didn’t want much timing.
That’s interesting because EGT has to be modeled since there’s no sensor to directly measure it.
It’s sounds like it’s probably just one more OEM table the ECU has to consider so it doesn’t overheat the cats or 02 sensors, potentially shortening their life.
boost, yep you read the # right… lol It didn’t end well for the motor… In one 1/4 mile pass it misfired 168 times and on another 226 times… That’s why I almost always log my passes and review what is going on… IMO anyone drag racing or road racing should do the same… I think the logs were posted on vendorzine at some point but if you’d like to look at them pm me a email address and I’ll send them over…
