Riddle me this....

…how, despite being of equal (phenomenally light) weight and having 200bhp less than the Ariel Atom V8, does the BAC MONO beat the AA around the top gear test track? 1:14.3 to 1:15.1

They were both new Stig.

Conditions?

AA V8 can’t get the power to the ground?

poiwer to weight is important in a straight line but it goes out the window on a road course. How the car is setup is key.

If you watch the mono it stays planted and solid all the way. It’s setup like a little racecar for downforce and grip.

The Atom is constantly trying to slide and come unglued. It is an open little go kart modelled after a car from 50 years ago.

I’d still rather own an Atom ;D

They’re both useless to me. I want a car that can do everything for me. I’m not into having a garage queen or dedicated purpose car.

Post up pictures of your mini van, I bet it’s sweet!

SURE THING.

4 doors, AWD, fold flat seats, plenty quick, lots of bootspace, leather and comfortable, great electronics and all the creature comforts one could want.

Here’s 10 videos of it.

There was an Ariel atom at the track earlier last year, and a radical SR3 the same day. The atom looks goofy, and drove like it. Pretty much like the SAE car we made almost 20 years ago. I can’t see how it would be any faster with more power than the K20. The radical was pure racecar, it was glued to the ground.

This Briggs looks like a F3 car. All the mass is centralized and it has an underbody, probably a Venturi.
