Ring gap

Not sure if anyone on here has this info, but looking to find out what stock ring gap is on our cars. Thanks

May I ask why? Just interested in why you would be interested.

Just curious so i know how much power i can make this turd have before i need to change stuff out of it.

The stock motor i hear the ring gap is way too close. You will land up with the ends binding with too much power. will be fun to see how well apr’s stage 3 engine holds up with the huge increase in power. there is probably a reason they gave our engine the CAKA designation.

It would be interesting to see how Audi set the gap. They have set the gap very wide in the past with boosted apps…what makes you think they closed it on this motor.

that’s what i was thinking, since they have a history with boost and aftermarket, it should have a decent amount of gap, but i’d really like to confirm this before i get too crazy

Smart man…when you say to crazy is there something out there that is available past the stock blower or is this just pre planing. I have been searching… I don’t thunk Audi gives out any ring specs for any year…

pre planning for not too distant future, just trying to get my ducks in a row first.

Here I pulled the info from the repair manual.

Here is what I got out of it.

Piston ring new mm Wear limit mm

1st compression ring 0.20 … 0.30 0.80
2nd compression ring 0.50 … 0.70 0.80
Oil scraper ring 0.25 … 0.50

ok, well then, anyone have a page for bearing sizes etc?

CAKA what … Like the slavic word for shit ? I don’t get it

nvm found bearing sizes. thanks for info so far.

another thing, since im new to audi, does the 3.2 or any of the other 3.0 intakes fit ours without having to have something machined?
