The timing belt, water pump, t-stat, serpentine belt, and both ECU’s were replaced prior to buying it.

Took a trip up north making a stop at JHM, Got me some Bosch spark plugs ( part#4417 ). Also got a 3m headlight cleaning kit at O’reillys since my headlights were looking a little rough.

And whats a day working on your car without some good beer right 8) Even matches the websites theme color HAHA!

Being that my car already had a Cat-Back Exhaust it was no where near loud enough for me, So I had the center resonator/muffler removed

Slowly but surely its getting stuff done, Ill keep you guys informed on how well the 3m headlight stuff works

3m headlight restore: Works Great! Patience was really the key but the final finish is great with no blemishes or scratches, it was worth the 20 bucks.

Alright, hitting the track tomorrow after work. Will have footage as well or i’ll get banned for life. haha!

Who wants to start guessing my times? My sig has all mods listed. One who guesses right gets a cold one on me

Im thinking 14.8 @ 95

Best of the night was 15.1 @ 91 mph

3/4 tank of gas
95 degrees outside
Full spare tire in trunk.

Sorry for crap pics. I will have the video footage up soon.

Rod is the man and sticks to his word. Great stuff rod and thanks sooo much for posting this. 15.1 thats no fast BUT your stock ish. That car will really wake up from a tune to the ECU and TCU. I know my car did.

Ill be honest. Im going to go run my car stockish and see if I can beat the 15.1. I don’t mean this in a competitive fashion as I know your A6 is super coosh and who doesn’t love that wide body.

Great guess. I know me and Im sure several other guys were scared to guess. Im glad I didn’t. Good guess on your part tho.

so whats next for the build list.

Nice man, hope you had fun, that’s the most important part. I think the next step for you is go have fun learning how to launch that thing a bit. You EASILY could of had a 14.8 if that 60’ was around 1.9 (looks like it was 2.18 or so?). Getting it down to 1.9 really isn’t that tough either, and you should be able to get some high 1.8’s consistently once you have dp’s and tune to help bring in more torque down low.

All in all, not bad for the first time out there in the car and as shawn said, not bad for a mostly stock car. Having fun is the most important part for sure though. And that heat certainly isn’t helping anyone!

Thanks guys, I was hot lapping and had no time to cool down. I was getting 2.3 60ft :frowning: Every run was very consistant. I dont think a 1.9 is very possible… yet. It was get much of a high stall while braking. I wasnt looking to break records, I got off work and drove straight to the track and now even 2 mins after I got there from a 2 hour drive I ran the car and hot lapped everyone.

So it was under worst case scenario conditions. 14’s could have been very possible but I wanted a starting place to go off of. the launch was super sluggish.

Im at work now, ill try to get the video up tonight.

Here are some baseline runs from yesterday. I bested a 15.1 @ 91 mph at Sacramento Raceway.

Um. . . yea I forgot you’re an auto haha. The only performance based posts about A6’s that I ever read are from beem and I just start to think manual 4.2 A6’s are common haha. So yea, getting the 60’ time down is going to be really tough without JHM’s TCU tune. Some LW wheels will really help off the line though if you ever wanted to go that route, as well as dumping the spare and get down to 1/8th tank of gas. Even just doing those two things and let the car cool down some could make a huge difference. But it sounds like you know most of this already!

Also, car looks great in the vids. I found it hilarious for that mustang to be doing all those burnouts and such, and in the video, it appears that he really didn’t beat you by that much. Some people would rather sound fast then be fast as they say. Keep the good work and posts coming!

Yeah the mustang actually ran a 13.8 i think. He was scratching 3rd gear, not bad. Yes im auto haha! my first automatic car i’ve ever owned and its annoying as hell haha. If I had the funds it would be a manual now but till then… ill do with the auto.

Next is a tune (ecu and tcu) after that probably downpipes depending on how soon I can get some stock ones.

it was also hot as balls out, that’s gonna make the car dog shit slow if you still have pre-cats. Once you get some downpipes, TCU and tune you should be able to down the 60’ under 2.0 and start getting up over 100mph traps.

LW wheels do help a lot as well, the S8 parts are killer up top, LW crank pulley would all help.

I’d also love to get some 2 piece LW rotors, shouldn’t be a huge issue to get them made from JHM since iirc they already do B5 S4 rotors.

I already have the pre-cats removed (piggies). Did that myself not too long ago. Ive heard good things about the s8 cams and intake.

Wheels i know would help a lot, these stockers weigh a ton.

rod it looked impressive… the dam car looks like it should be a 13sec car.

I think the TCU tune alone will knock off .4

It would be great to see your car go 13.8 just for the sake of being faster then that loud ass mustang.

That’s the goal ^
