I am deeply saddened by my tax bill but it could be worse if I was in Canada.
The electric car can be a great thing. But I dont ever see it being the solution. Im still wondering why Im told by the tree huggers that need to turn down my AC in the summer so save electricty but I can plug my car in for 14 hours. Electric cars take longer to charge then most people drive so in some part your using energy over a longer point in time.
The tesla is impressive but right now its more claims then proof. When tesla builds a 10 second car we can celebrate it. Right now its more talk then anything. Also they need to build it and actually have it run. Even if its possible to have a 10 second tesla it wont be possible to do what you can in a conventional car. Where you can drive to the track make 20 passes and then drive home.
I said this in the twin turbo argument. electric vs petrol debate is one that will rage on with lots of good points on each side.
The videos will surface and I do believe the car could do 20 passes in 3 hours (if you’re getting a turn every 10 minutes) with greater consistency than a gasoline car. Tesla’s Achilles heel is electric only. A 3.0L twin turbo driving one axle with a 12kw battery driving the other axle would be a sweet ride. I don’t doubt this will make it onto a VW group car for about $100k very soon.
If and when the videos come out that will be a day to celabrate depending on if the battery melted or there was some major issues just after the runs. Obviously it cant be some shell of a car.
I dont see 20 passes being possible but I would be excited to see it. I just think no matter how you slice it nothing is going to kill the conversation more then. Yahhh the tesla can run 10s but after a few passes you need to wait 14 hours to drive the car again.

I dont think electronic cars are the way of the future. I think using there components matted with petrol or some sort of combustable fuel is going to rain as the king.
The original P85 is good for about 15 minutes of track time, with 10 minutes at full power. That’s four 1/4 mile pulls to triple digit speed every lap, with a good lap being 2 minutes 15 seconds. I was totally shocked and it changed my perspective that these aren’t golf carts or novelties.
