Rotors + Brake Pads

Hey guys,

I’m in the process of changing out brake pads and possibly rotors. First and foremost, I understand the JHM LW rotors would be the best option, however it’s not in the budget right now. But does anyone have any suggestions? Should I just stick with OEM rotors? I was looking at some Centric High Carbon rotors and Hawk ceramic brake pads. Doing rears right now and might change front in the 2nd or 3rd quarter of the year to have matching rotors if I did get after market.

I drive the car daily, no track YET but I do some street racing every now and again. :slight_smile:

OEM or close to it would be fine. I have always gotten great results with hawk pads. SO no complaints there. just be careful on the rotors as some of them are cheap china rotors that will crack or have longevity issues. OEM or close to it are beefy and can take most abuse you throw at them.

I bought centric rotors and used them with no issue other than the centers rusting, which I just painting with brake paint and haven’t had an issue. the rears I bought zimmermans because I like that they don’t rust on the centers.

Fronts have gone through 2 years of use and about 30,000km without cracking or warping or otherwise failure.

As for pads I picked up some raybestos. I’ve used them in the past and liked how dust free they were.
