But anyone ever swap their seats on (on B8/8.5)?
I’m mulling over swapping out the stock seats with the Recaro Sportster CS.
Are there resistors/kits sold to defeat the Air Bag warning light?
Also, thinking of running it with the Schroth Rallye-4 4pt harness. Though I’m also wondering if it would be worth running it without a roll cage (rollover danger - god forbid)?

I was at 425 Motorsports earlier today (bought a tire pressure gauge) and sat in some of the display seats they had.
I bought my RS from 425 on consignment. Nice guys, and can handle the small stuff (helmets, gloves, etc). I went with Cantrell because they could get my car racing on Sunday, but more importunity, take care of it on monday. 425 is not really setup as a full service shop.
A little word of warning, 425 is not a Recaro dealer. Cantrell has the exclusive distributor contract, and this is a point of contention with the two shops. 425 is essentially buying them from another distributor in the country, and reselling. The seat brackets they use are also non-FIA certified, which they never disclose at the time of purchase.
I trust Colin’s shop a lot more than 425 because of the little stuff like that. I hate being bamboozled.
I saw that on Cantrell’s site as well as Recaro’s site late last night. Raised an eyebrow when I did… I’d prefer authorized resellers due to the fact if I need after sales support, it’s there and backed by the manufacturer. But thanks for the heads up! Will drop by sometime and chat with Cantrell.
Who actually makes brackets/sliders for B8’s? I’ve seen the “planted” ones…which I believe is 425 Motorsports, but who else?

Someone in AUS swapped in Recaros and it seems there are some other concerns beyond the airbag sensor, mainly position sensor and occupied sensor.
Yeah the planted ones are from 425 motorsports.
I’ll ask Cantrell when I eventually drop by and see what they say. I think it’s more of the sliders more so than the bracket yeah?

You should have no problem using the genuine Recaro sliders (if you even want/need that function) with the vehicle adapter (from 425 or other).
Yes, he mentioned that he used resistors for the airbags but I don’t see where he said what values he used.
I’ve been wanting to switch to a set of Sport Topline (heat/vent )for sometime but don’t want to get stuck with some BS issue like he’s currently having.

“I have fixed the airbag light problem over two years ago its easy. just take the seat cover off your stock seat untape all the wires in the harness and install the gel thing in your recaro under the seat pad. I have no lights at all… it all works just- the side bags.”

Nice! Seats are taking a back seat to brakes for now (lol). But ORP has definitely highlighted how much I need them. Will head to Cantrell when I’m ready for seat consultation…
