Acquired car from previous owner in June 2022 with 91K. She’s at 98K now and drinks a lot of oil. I need to top her off every 600-700 miles. By topping off, I mean the yellow low oil light comes on, I turn the car off and check the dipstick, and top off as needed to make the turn back off. Don’t see any major leaks. Previous owner did carbon cleaning at 86K, but don’t see records of deflap or PCV. I drive spirited and run Pentosin 5w_40. Other than compression test, what should I have my mechanic take a look at? I’m already planning on doing an early carbon cleaning and deflap, but is PCV recommended? What else?
